JUST HATCHED!

My first gecko just hatched! it took some time getting out of the egg..i was a little worried, when it came out it had this huge..thing stuck on it almost looked twisted in it. after some time it came off it bits from the gecko running around. i noticed there a bit more under it and around its back. you can see in the photo is this ok? and what kinda gecko is it?

Perhaps a pastel? Very cool striped pattern! I am thinking that thing is the yolk, but idk.

Very nice hatchling. Congratulations. Technically not a stripe because the tail is banded, so it would be called an aberrent.

Looks like it hadn't absorbed the yolk sack yet. That can be creepy/scary looking if you haven't seen it before. We had two of them that hadn't absorbed it yet completely when they hatched. The one made me a bit worried because it was so large. She is doing fine now, and eats like a pig. You did the right thing by putting it on the moist paper towels. Typically they will absorb it, or rub it off. I think she is going to look like mom. I bet the stripes on the sides will hypo out a lot as she grows. I am guessing it's a tang just like the parents.

yeah well it scared me because she started ripping all the stuff off her i was like "WHHOOO wait i think you need that!!" as she ran around the cup like a crazy little gecko. she is still very live and still running around.
