Keeping Mealworms

I feed my gecko the big mealworms and wanted some help with keeping them.
I just keep them in the box I bought them in, they have oatmeal in the bottom
but the mealworms either eat each other or they die I'm not sure which. Last
week I started putting some carrot in their as i read it helps? Any advice on how
to keep them better and stop them eating each other or dying?

Also when I put them in my geckos food bowl there is always at least one dead.
I feed 5 of them at a time. Should I put some of the oatmeal or carrot in the bowl
when I feed them? I do dust them with calcium sometimes although my gecko doesn't
always eat them when I do.

The sticks
That's odd, that they would each each other.
Hmmm... have you tried putting them in the fridge so that they can't move around.?

If you put them in a bigger (wider not taller) container and provide a bigger moisture source (bigger piece of carrot for instance) they won't eat each other

The mealworms are eating eachother because they canibalize when ther eisn't enough moisture..as those previous stated a piece of vegetable like carrots will work..I use carrots bcause they don'r mold like apples and potatoes...like Khrysty said u may need a different container larger floor space rather then height and you should be good to go :) good luck I am also doing mealies farm and got my first beetle YAY :p so it can be done lol

Are you sure its not the sheds of the mealworms and you may think those are the remains of one that got eaten.
