Hi everybody...it's been a while but, I have a question...does anyone have expirence with gecko leashes? I have two boys (5 & 8) and our gecko "Bob" likes to sit on their shoulders but, it makes me nervous because he has jumped off & then we have to catch him quick before he gets under something. I thouht maybe if we had the leash I could relax a little...any thought?:main_huh:

ive seen video's on youtube of geckos with leashes on. they are a bit too big for leo's, but maybe you could make a smaller and lighter one yourself.

I've seen small versions of iguana leashes at pet stores that say they're for geckos and anoles (yea anoles, can you even imagine trying to put a leash on an anole?) but I've never tried them. I'm not sure my boys would like that very much.

Hey, IDEA!! You could find one of those people that make halters & stuff for toy & model horses. Just contant them & tell them what your looking for, they could probably make you a harness & leash thatt would be the right size. It would be close to halter for a model horse. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=hand%20made%20halters%20for%20breyer&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi All these are the model horse brand called "Breyer," I have a small collection of these, small as in 40 or 50, lol. They have shows & money prizes so thats 1 reason I have them, hehe.

One thing you can do if you want to take your leo with you is get a nice fanny pack, preferably leather, and carefully measure what size hole you'd need to have your leo put his head through but not his shoulders, and cut a small hole in the top of the fanny pack. That way you can walk around and have him with you and he'd be able to stick his head out and look around. Then you just unzip to take him out. Works great.

Maybe I should patent The Leo Pouch!

Oh I am so using this as fodder for a comic. lol

When I worked at the Petstore of Evilness, we did have little harnesses and leashes for lizards. I believe Fluker's made them, and they did have a size that was small enough for a large leopard gecko. Anything smaller and I would think you'd have to make one yourself. The Leo Pouch does sound like an awesome idea, but I'd be afraid of stressing my leo out if I took him everywhere with me...as neat as that might be. lol

I've found that if they can fit their head through it they can most likely fit the rest of their body through it..haha. Little contortionists!

XD My Dante does the same thing. Had him out and on my shoulder but he decided that he'd rather go down the front of my shirt instead :main_rolleyes:

I think most of mine would like a nice nest of hair if they had to travel. They are always hiding in it, and several times I've had to have Ryan help retrieve them. Of course now I'm picturing the stares I would get carrying around a lizard in a pouch of hair with a hole in it. I think that is material to get myself committed.

Sorry this is off-topic, but hello fellow model horse collector. *wave*

...And actually, I do make some tack/prop items, I don't sell them but just make what I need for my own show string... so maybe I should use some of my leftover lace to make some gecko harnesses. :main_laugh:
