This poor guy has traveled down the line from owner to owner from what I've been told. The first person did everything right but he stopped eating so they gave him to a new home. The new owners got him eating but couldn't keep him so a year after they had him he was given to a friend of mine. Now my friend is having problems with him and brought him over to me....
He said he wasn't doing well but I didn't realize just how bad it was. I can't bring my self to take any pictures of him. Basically he has stopped eating altogether, still shedding but it's sticking in more places. He came to me with shed in one eye that looks like it's been there for a few months and a fresh piece shed in the other eye that I took out. He's losing more weight by the week and his spine is starting to show. I can't let him go through anymore after seeing how lethargic he is and how bad of shape he is in. I plan to call the vet this week to see if we can have him humanely put to sleep so he doesn't have to suffer anymore since we've exhausted most other options.
I've never had to do this before but what can they do or what do they usually do if a reptile is too far gone and needs to be euthanized?
