You may have seen my girls' new home. It looks very sleek and clean cut and I feel like the traditional hides/bowls have no place there.
Instead, I've designed some (what I think is) pretty impressive "furniture" out of polymer clay. Right now it's just in the sketching stage, but I plan on putting this together once I get home. Everything will be sealed with acrylic sealer and should be completely washable, whether you want to wash it in the dishwasher or boil it to clean it.
This is the Canopy bed. The canopy part is going to be made of clay, also, not cloth, but that and the "bed" portion will look clothlike. The opening might be a little smaller, but the top of the bed, as well as the bottom of the bed, function as hides.
This is the dining room table. It will function as either the food or the water bowl. I may do some modifications so it can function as both, but I'm unsure about that at this point. Any suggestions are welcome.
This is the shower/bathtub. It functions as the wet hide. The substrate goes in the bathtub) I may have the "curtain" pulled over just a little farther so that there's less space for the humidity to escape..
(keep in mind that, once painted, the coloring won't be nearly as flat as it appears on the drawings..it'll look more lifelike: example - the wood will look like "oak," the cloth will look like "cloth" and so on)
Any suggestions about modifications or other furniture would be graciously accepted. I'm hoping (assuming all goes well when I make the "prototypes" for my leos) that I'll be able to sell these at some point. Would anyone be interested in buying them or is it a silly idea?
