Seriously is anyone else wondering why the Leo's vent area is so swollen...and the body doesn't look right...Im kinda thinking this Leo needs to see a vet ASAP. Great example of why if you can't afford a vet visit you really should second guess owning this type of pet, IMO, sorry if that seems harsh but its a just question/point.
Not my fault people elected obama.
I don't really.. want to risk it if it doesn't stick then I'm in trouble.

Really? What does this add to this discussion? Your pet needs to see a vet, Obama has nothing to do with it, now go be a responsible pet owner.
So, you would jeopardize your pet's wellbeing because you don't want to risk a problem that can easily be solved with tape?

Just put the tank heater on the table under the tank. Mine fell off the bottom of my tank, and the temperatures barely changed. I only noticed it when I had to move the tank. Nothing caught on fire either, they really don't even get that hot (100-110 degrees F at most). My computers get hotter than that on a regular basis.
I don't have a zoo med but I'm sure that if you peel it off carefully then you can put it on the bottom of the tank. You can even sandwich it inbetween tin foil too so it doesn't even have to be sticky still. it's an UNDER THE TANK HEATER. I know there are instructions for putting it on the side of the tank, but I think it also says that for a different type of reptile.
You ask for help and we are giving you suggestions. Maybe you should listen or not waste our time. (The Obama comment = wasting our time)
Sand and Lights need to go...suggestion.
UTH needs to be fixed...BOTTOM LINE.
As for the swollen vent...that is not normal and should be looked at BY A VET. And if you can't afford it, then I agree that maybe you shouldn't have a pet especially if you aren't even willing to listen to our suggestions/recommendations. Vets can get pretty expensive though but I think in your case, our suggestions about the tank may help the gecko but will not solve the vent problem (I don't have any males so I can't really say what the problem could be...try searching the forum more)
30 bucks for a tank heater is not that bad. That's like a case of beer, or a pair of jeans. I'm sure you can dig up the 30 bucks IF you completely destroy the UTH by pulling it off the tank.

In all seriousness I can't get a vet appointment.. my dad even suggested cooking him, I am upset and I want to make sure he lives but I can't do much more.... He almost died before I don't want him to die this time either.. so please give me some home remedies... My parent's don't care unless it's their pet.. they don't care if it's one of my lizards that I can go buy another at the pet store.. but what they don't understand is how much he means to me.

Dude...I'm the same age as you and I've been able to pay off 4 years of university by myself, live away from my parents for the 4 years while I'm at school, pay off a wedding, and put money down for a house...and you can't afford 30 bucks?
Frick, if I were living near you, I'd pay you the 30 bucks to cut the grass or clean the gutters or something. 30 bucks is not that hard to get yourself without relying on your parents.

I'm 14... my parent's don't give me money... and I live in arizona... the job's are all taken. foreclosures have hit our part hard.. I just read this.. and another thread said that they had to put the lizard down... if this is true then.................................................................................................I am going to give up on pets, they all die on me and I try my best to give them everything..
