I hope this is an ok place to put this! I am new to leopard geckos and have been researching my butt off about them! I think I am finally ready, just ordered almost $150 worth of supplies yesterday, Hideys, dishies, heating pads, lights etc. And I think I am ready to get my first geckos. I don't have a ton to spend (no $100 breeders, lol) But if you have a female that you would just like to find a good home for please let me know! I would rather buy from a breeder then a mass producing chain petstore! Thank you!

If you let us know where you're located, we can tell you who's near you (or whether there will be a show) so you can avoid shipping costs.

If your just looking for a pet id sugest you get a male. Females tend to go off food for awhile once breeding season starts.

Just out of curiosity, what *is* the big deal about females going off food? Aside from it being a little stressful if you don't know what's going on, it doesn't seem like it would be a big issue.

Hi I am also interested in getting a Leopard Gecko and wondered if it would be worth my time driving up to the Westchester Show as it is a 3 hour hike for me. I am looking to spend approx 150 or less (hopefully) on a high yellow or a tangerine. Do you think there will be enough vendors there to have a suitable selection as I would rather buy from a breeder who can tell me which one will be tame and more likely a tuned to some limited personal interaction.

Thanks in advance

There are a reasonable number of leopard gecko vendors at the White Plains show and some nice ones for decent prices.

The weirdest thing is where I am located at, the best quality leopard geckos I have owned are from the local petsmart. The reptile experts are all leopard gecko breeders, and make sure the geckos get plenty of calcium and are kept off sand. Now all the other big chain stores in my area, even the local mom and pop, um lets just say they are pretty bad!
