Oh Matt, I dwarf when compared to you! The only thing that I'd tasted for my leos is baby food! The last time I made Marcia's slurry, I opened the can of "beef and pumpkin" baby food, and I thought it smelled good, so I dipped my finger in there and tasted it (yuck, it smells great but its tasteless). That's the furthest their loving mama can do for them....lol.

BTW, my sister has chinchillas, and she tasted all sort of chin food: grass, pellets, dried stuff...etc. She also claimed her chin kicked a poo in her mouth before....

Matt,
You really need to come by and visit me at my table on April 22nd and do this mealworm and waxworm consumption thing in front of an audience. It would definitely create quite a stir. We could create some type of crazy promotion.....for example.... "for every gecko you buy, Mealworm Matt here will eat a mealworm or similar crawling bug". You could get a 10% cut of the price of the gecko sold. Then, aside from the thrill of captivating (or totally sickening) your audience, you would also have the thrill of using your own earnings to fill another tank or two with some Leos. Just think, if it's your cash, your dad might not be so disagreeable to you buying some more. Sounds like a good plan, right?
Seriously man, id totally do it. And my latest gecko i DID buy with MY money, and still it was hard as heck to get my dad to let me. But my dad did kinda promise we could see you in a month or so at the show so i could see about your lil baby mackies, so maybe, just maybe! But seriously man, If i can get my dad free that sunday, we could totally set something up and ill definatly do it.

so kiki, how does it feel to have a son that eats the same thing as your geckos do? hey matt, try to dip the feeders in chocolate..YUMMMM. you should make a "how to eat leopard gecko food" book. step 1: first you grab the insect firmly in your hands, then place it in your mouth, after that chew chew chew. after that wash it down with a little leopard gecko skin! ENJOY!!!!
HEHEHEHEH MAN TO FUNNY.

Here ya go Matt, "Can't you get salmonella from reptiles?

You can, indeed. However, if you take the most elementary precautions, your
chances of getting salmonella from a herp are much less than from, say,
incompletely cooked chicken. Wash your hands after handling herps or herp
supplies. Don't put herps in your mouth (yes, this probably means you should
resist the urge to kiss that bearded dragon).
Keep herps away from food
preparation surfaces. In sum, don't treat herps as if they were "clean" for
human consumption. With that caveat obeyed, the risk of catching anything
from a herp is negligible."

I think there are many other kinds of bacteria that lizards carry. I am not trying to ruin your feast, but that is terribly dangerous.

Matt should make his own waxworm cookbook. I have a friend who has eaten fried crickets and he says they taste like french fries.:p

yuck

You really have issues, Matthew. You know, the bugs was one thing, but the skin?? You shouldn't let your geckos dare you into eating things like that! :main_rolleyes:
