Seriously man, id totally do it. And my latest gecko i DID buy with MY money, and still it was hard as heck to get my dad to let me. But my dad did kinda promise we could see you in a month or so at the show so i could see about your lil baby mackies, so maybe, just maybe! But seriously man, If i can get my dad free that sunday, we could totally set something up and ill definatly do it.

Matt, I wish I still had the Macks you saw. I sold all of them last week. There is a slight possibility I would have some Mack hatchlings for the April show, but most definitely have quite a few available again in July. I will also have Super Snows available at that show as well. BTW, eating the skin is grossing me out a bit ...... never thought about doing that. :main_lipsrsealed:

GoGo: if you're ever in Australia (we can include spiders etc too if you like, perhaps we can also move into non-invertebrates), I'll gladly challenge you to an insect-eating contest. Name your stakes! The next day we can take it easy and have a meal of something more normal, perhaps brain, liver and kidneys.

To the people freaking out about eating insects, realise that GoGo and I aren't that unusual by global standards, and you may be shocked to know that you eat insects too. Processed foods invariably contain insects. When they harvest fruit, the nice, clean, pretty looking stuff goes to the shop for you to buy and feel happy about. The stuff which is full of bugs gets made into juice/sauce etc (visit a tomato sauce factory one day, you might be surprised! :) ). There are laws about the amount of insects which can be included in products such as juice and bread (let's face it, if you store grain in a huge silo, it isn't going to stay free of grain beetles for long and no one is going to sort the whole lot out, so it's a question of how much, not whether or not they're there).

I worked on vineyards for a while. The regulatory bodies weren't at all fussed about policing the regulations about how many creepy crawlies were in the grapes which was used to make wine. The owners were more fussed about it because while a few made no difference, a lot of insects or spiders changed the flavour of the wine. We had to be particularly careful of some types because they changed the flavour more than others. In some cases, insects actually improve the flavour of processed foods, as well as their nutritional value.

I'm getting hungry, I might have to raid the mealworm colony.
