I am unsure, but think it might have a snake eye and looks mack to me:main_huh: .

I was trying to get images for a new banner and they were too tightly shot, but isn't he a handsome little devil:main_laugh:

Very Nice Paul. Is see a bit of yellow in the Stripe but it's very faint so it could be a Mack, either way an excellent stripe!!

very handsome fellow there, Paul! The mack is really interesting... maybe it's a reverse stripe mack eclipse?

Paco, the days of no yellow on mack hatchlings went out the window last year when everyone told me a hatchling from mack tremper X SHTCTB het tremper couldn't be a mack tremper....

I wonder if any of them wants a SS tremper from him to a mack het tremper ;) :main_laugh:

That's a tough one... I'm leaning towards not a Mack because of the brown color... My opinion doesn't count for much since I've never hatched an Eclipse/Raptor Mack cross, but from the pics I've seen they're usually more black...

The Enigma is looking outstanding!

Paul... I don't deal with the Macks so I wouldn't really know. Just from all the post I have seen and read about the Macks.

So then How do you tell these days if it is a Mack or not? If it's not a pure Mack crossing?

Do you have to test breed out the 100% not positive Macks to prove them out?

Because if someone like you can't tell if it's a Mack or not, how the heck is someone supposed to know if they have never worked with the morph before?

Could this led to misidentification of Certain Mack combos because we are just guessing if the Mack gene is there or not, because it's not expressed in the normal fashion?

Paco.... I can ID a non blizzard mack 98% of the time in my collection. The blizzards are a bit tough for me at times and if I am unsure, I sell it as possible mack blizz with a blizz price tag ;)

I am by far not the expert of the mack breeders of the world, but have seen many a person working color into macks and hatching out macks with a slight tang influence. I personally think mack pastel is BS, but that is what some call macks that hatch with a bit of color.

mine was labeled mack pastel by many posters, but if that's the case they are indeed a true mack snow from my experience.

Very interesting Paul thanks for the info.

Glad to see you at least label your stuff Possible Macks instead of just calling them Macks.:main_thumbsup:

Not to get you into any type of Argument with other breeders here, what do think of the Pastels? Are they really Pastels or are they just really nice looking line breed Normals? Because there have been a few discussions about Pastels as of late. Again another morph I don't work with.

420 mike sent me a "mack pastel" that is awesome looking! It's not quite mack looking and definately not a normal either. I will test it someday and get back with my answer.

but yeah, that striped bad mofo sure is sexy isn't she ;) ;)

Thanks everyone:main_thumbsup:

Pastel is a gene though, not necessarily anything to do with what they look like as hatchings, just how they lighten up as they age.. but anyway, I don't really want to get into the semantics of pastels and all of that again, since it's so debatable.

Looks like it could be Mack to me, it's very beautiful nonetheless, I don't think I have ever seen a black stripe down the back (always see white stripes..?) Very nice :D

Pastel isn't a line bred trait as far as I know, it just popped up in Mack populations and Alex Hue proved that you can take two pastels and produce 100 percent pastels in the first generation offspring. Many people don't think Pastel is anything special until you actually see one in person :main_yes: We wouldn't have thought anything of our normals until we realized that they ended up not looking normal at all, that is when we started doing research on Pastels and realized that we had Pastel in our groups.

Jess... Thanks for the info, you learn something new every day. I did not know the origins of the Pastels so it's interesting info. Never thought much of the morph so far but as you said you need to see them in person to get the true picture.
