I hatched one normal and the rest were snows last year from the gem x tug pairing. The normal hatched yellow and black, but he did get lighter. The rest hatched black and white.

Oh okay, so you can still get normals from LBS' then, just not as often I guess? You didn't get anything in between, though? I get funky hatchlings that seem somewhere between the bright yellow/black and black/white

Just that one. Some ended up looking like the dad and some ended up looking like the mom, but they were similar when they hatched.

Well we've only gotten two, out 16 babies, of those babies with "in-between" colors (well, I would also count that one Enigma baby that was pictured earlier too because it's not really yellow, more of a golden/earthy toned color) .. if and when we get another (non-Enigma), I'll have to keep it and breed, see if it produces Snows on its own.. would be interesting if it did. Although, Kristen Muller has the first one of those we hatched (Stoney), I sent him to her for Secret Santa 2008.. I'll have to contact her and see if she ever bred him. The other one went to Ben (italipinos8).. I need to find him and contact him too, to see how it ended up as an adult because I haven't seen it since it was 20 grams or so.

For reference to anyone interested:
Here's the thread on the 2nd baby that hatched out with irregular colors: http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=38752&highlight=stoney

Yeah, I remember the grades..

It would be cool if Albey had the time.. although he seems like he is always pretty busy, I've only been able to talk with him a little in the past

i just sent him an email hopefully he has some extra time but with all of those babies hatching, he may not.

I think Albey has answered my e-mails once or twice in the several times I have e-mailed him in the past.. and not that I have anything against him, but the only times he did answer me were when I was a customer.. I think he puts his priorities on customers only because that's how busy he is.. I talked to him on the phone once and he sounded like he was in a huge hurry... busy, busy, busy

Hmmmm, that is very interesting.. no LBS genes there, so maybe it just happens from time to time with Snows overall? I'm sure that one will end up being very nice as it gets older :sweetheart:

It looks kind of light though, was that before it's first shed? We did get a normal from Mack x Mack (both het. Tremper though) that ended up being really light and white like a Snow.. something I would expect from LBS x Mack, but not Mack x Mack.. I wonder if it's the Tremper gene that does it?

And now that I think about it, this baby from Mack x Mack wasn't bright yellow at hatch, either.. Ben also has this one, I PMed him to see if he could provide updated pics

the tremper is actually post shed. she looked like that before too, still does. she was incubated at 81*

Yeah, that one is very amazing :sweetheart: Reminds me of one we hatched before, looks JUST like him.. I can't find any pics of when he was about that size though.. I swear it could be that one's twin! Ours was het. Patty though, but it too had the speckled look.

Yeah, both the baby from Mack x Mack that I posted and the other one that was golden-yellow as a hatchling were both incubated at 82.. but the first golden-yellow baby that we got that Kristen has was incubated at 88.

Here is Genis looks like hes going into shed. He is really white and black not gray and black.

Yeah, he looks like he's darker currently, could be from laying on the colder side, or not laying on the heated side long enough.. he's very handsome though :sweetheart: our SS from LBS x Mack got dark like that too, once he was an adult.

Just for fun, SS from LBS x Mack

and here he is, darker after living in a big cage for awhile (they always stay nice and bright then they live in bins)

I wanted to find one with a similar pose, so here ya go... I mean, the flash makes her white a little brighter than it should be, but yeah.. you should see the resemblance in this one
