Male or Female

I thought for sure this gecko was female until a couple days ago. She/he is still under 4 months, but is 42 grams. I know that I have an adult female that I would swear is a boy because her bulge is bigger than most females, but this one looks like it's starting to be two now where before it just looked like one with no separation.

What do you think? Is she a he now?

At a glance I'd say male, but I've had females where their pre-anal pores are just deeply dimpled. Can you inlarge and crop that second pic? Have you tried to loupe it?

If I enlarge it, it gets to blurry. I haven't louped it. I never have with a leopard gecko, so I doubt that will help me. I don't think the pores look any deeper than my other females, but it's the bulge seperation that worries me.

Is it possible to do the flashlight trick? I forgot where I saw the post. But you can shine a flashlight on hatchlings and if you see red veins it's a male. If there are no veins then it's female. Don't know if the trick will work for juvies.

Thank you!:D

This was one of the confusing pics that I forgot to add.

I'm glad she's a girl like I originally thought. I guess I shouldn't second guess myself with sexing. I just got nervous when it looked like they were starting to be 2 separate bulges. Some of them are so easy to sex and others make it really hard.

I know how you feel. I've got a killer little one that I am hoping is female. still looking female but she is only 18 grams at the moment. still quit hopeful. everything I incubated this year was at 84°F. Guess I wanted to gamble. its a little risky when you get a nice hold back and it turns out to be the opposite of what you need.

Thanks everyone! I guess I was just seeing things. I hate when I get a confusing one. I'm so glad she's a girl though.:D
