Okey doke. I've earned enough money (about $50) to buy a new leo and a lamp. I can't decide between getting a baby leopard gecko, juvenile, or adult. Babies are really cute and are bundles of energy. An adult would be cool to have because I've never had an adult leopard gecko, and a juvenile would be somewhere inbetween. Of course, I could also save the money for college, store it in a bank, ect. What should I do?

At this time of year you're probably only going to be able to afford a baby with just $50. Adults generally go for more, depending on the morph.

Where I live, they're $30, except for during sales, then they're $20. The place has great geckos, but they only have normals I think which is kind of a bummer.

Save up & order a nice SHTCT or something online from some of the sellers here. You'll be sure to get a really good leo then :)

I've only got two and both were adults (3yrs old) when I got them but I kinda like them because they can eat fully grown crickets and it's kind of hard to get small crickets around here. But if that wasn't a concern, I would like to have a young one just to watch it change colors as it matured and because babies are always so cute. :)

Look out on Craigslist and similar places for a rehome/rescue.
That way you are giving a gecko that needs a home a good place to live, and if it's been neglected then there is nothing like seeing them start to thrive when they are given the right environment and diet and love

My latest leo is a rescue and was severely malnourished and it feels sooo good to see her eating and pooping and being active :main_yes:

I'd say to get a baby so you will be able to tame him/her while he/she is still young. Or, just get one that you particularly like, it's all preferance^^.

Yeah I think I'll get a baby, or the youngest one there. Of course personality, morph type, healthiness, ect. will all go into my choice.

I personally would go for a baby; so you can raise it and watch it grow and change! You'll be more attached to the gecko too!

I'd get a baby. If your not too picky on what type it is, i know where i am right now, one of the big stores has them for reeeally cheap. especially if you have a "member" card.

i prefer to buy adults because you know exactly what you're getting and typically they are ready to breed immediately, and have made it past any of the problems that can be encountered during growth.

Babies are usually a little cheaper, so that's nicer. I tend to like adults because I love bigger geckos, I think they're nicer to hold and usually much calmer animals.
