Quick question.... Hoow would you know if a gecko has MBD and can you reverse the effects?

You can tell if your leo has MBD by if his limbs are flexible or bendy. Yes, it can be reversed... You have to take the leo to the vet to get a shot of calcium or give your leo d3 three times a week. My oldest leo had MBD. Now he is healed. You can tell he had it, but his limbs are not bendy anymore...

Hope I helped.

Is there a way of telling by just looking at him? Sorry to be a pain, not sure if he has it or not, he was quite badly treated before and he's getting better but I know he was never given calcium before, he seems to walk quite wobbly, not sure if that is a sign? I've attached a picture (from when I first got him)

And where do I get D3? Is that not the same as normal calcium powder? He's got a bowl of calcium powder in his tank, and I also dust his food with it?

You have to give him d3 calcium. You get it at pet shops. Make sure you get the one that HAS d3 calcium. You need to dust his food twice a week (if he has mbd, three times a week). I can't tell from the pic id he has MBD. He looks very skinny and his tail is way, way to thin. I think he may have cyrus (sp?). It can and prob will kill your leo.

Is he eating well? Has he gained any weight since you've had him? Mine was tiny like that when I got him from the previous owner, but slowly and surely fattened up. His little legs look very straight. Is it just his weight and general health that worry you or are there other specific things that are going on?

I got him about a month and a half ago from a petshop as he was being mistreated (I have reported them). Anyway I had to feed him Marcia's slurry for about a month or so. I took him to the vets when I first got him, got tested for parasites etc. He came back clean for parasites but had Salmonella, which he is currently on antibiotics. He started eating live food (finally) about a week ago (ordered tiny crickets for him), he seemed to be doing a lot better, but over the last 2 days or so he hasn't eaten and has been sleeping a lot, his eyes seem sunken as well. I'm just petrified he's going to die :(

He has cripto or a parisite just look at the poor thing there no meat on him
Crypto does not show up on routine fecal exams.

This is not a good sign. Sunken eyes can mean dehydration, but is also an indication the gecko is dying. I hope it pulls through for you...
