Yeah I live down in Phoenix and cant find them anywhere local or online and the ones I do find might have 5 out of 50 alive I have been relaying on crickets and a small amount of wax worms plus my female is gravid so I guess that isnt that bad plus i would rather just use crickets anyways since thats all my other geckos eat

I bought the last 2000 from the rep store today. I paid $45 with a discount. Ouch! I really hope we can get them online again soon. I know Sunshine said July, but does anyone know if it's the beginning of end of July?

I know, it's crazy! I paid even more than that at petsmart though. I'm so grateful now for online suppliers. I never knew they were so expenisve in stores.

Any real reasons yet for the shortage? Ive heard that their is a supposed bacterial outbreak in either food sources or from packing material (heard both) that is rendering the bettles infertile.

I read somewhere that the feed was altered so bugs would not eat the crops. So I guess the bugs aren't eating the feed.

This is just something I noticed. I have been buying meal worms from a big chain store and they have had thick shells and they were a nice gold color. I just received mealies from an on-line supplier and the meal worms are very soft and almost see through. Has anyone else noticed this or think it is something to do with the shortage or just a different supplier. These mealies I have just don't seem right.

I got 2000 giant mealworms from Bassets 2 weeks ago and couldnt be happier.
My geckos all adjusted to them with ease. These mealies are huge, I got them eating 2 a day and thats enough to fill their appetite. \

If you have a colony of only adults, I would recommend them.

I just ordered some from Exotic Nutrition! THANKS KRISTI! You are a life saver.

I tried ordering from LLLReptile supply and I placed the order for 1,000 giant mealworms and paid and everything then they called and said they couldn't get any in from the supplier. Kinda annoying but I guess it was to be expected...

I'm glad I could help someone else out.:) I'm hoping this will get me thru until sunshine has them again. We're going to start breeding them if I can get any to pupate. So far, they just die.:(
