I just rung my local petshop to see if they have any mealworms in stock as need to be pick some of them up, as well as wax worms and they said they have LOADS of mealworms in stock - odd how only a shortage in the US?

Plus you don't wan't to make silk worms your primary feeder. It can be very hard to get animals to eat anything other than silks once they have a taste for them. They should be rotated into the diet with other feeders. Superworms are the way to go. They are much more lively than mealworms and come in various sizes, plus 4-6 large supers fill a med sized adult. Super are also way more hardy than mealworms. Much eaier to keep as well. I am also looking into Dubia as well, them seem to becoming very popular and look to be an excellent feeder as far as nutrition. As many other have stated before.
