That is Bull $1300 for any blizzard is gonna be nuts. Midnight blizzards are just a silly marketing scheme for blizzards that are darker. I kept some blizzards when I first started out and they regularly change color from light white to light chalky gray to very dark gray(midnight blizzard) the color seems to be based around mood and temperature.

Maybe Morgan meant $13.00? LOL...

Definately agree with Adam...in fact, i'm not sure I can think of a gecko that's worth anywhere near $1300 these days....maybe something from JMG...but I digress...

Ya know I heard a story that some time back there was actually a guy that could consistantly breed Blizzards for Midnight and Banana Blizzards. I don't remember who the guy was or where he went but it's a true story.

As far as JMG only being the one that has $1300 geckos I think not. Remember it takes money to make money, and people have to buy the $1500 geckos to make even more expensive geckos. ;)

Takes money along with a little bit of luck. You could buy a $1500 dud unless proven breeder! :)

years ago, back when the blizzards were first released people wound up hatching darker blizzards. Peoples' first inclination was that not only did we have the blizzard (closest, if not the actual real deal true leucistic leo [leucistics, as a whole, phenotypically speaking can have black or blue eyes!]) but when the midnights started showing that we were also going to finally have a true melanistic. Back then these were termed the midnights, but with age and breeding trials they showed to be nothing special, with them looking like plain ole blizzards. They are nothing new, and DEFINITELY not worth $1300.

If you want to pay $1300 for a plain ole normal blizzard, then I've got some ocean front property in southern New Mexico I'd like to sell ya too.

Consistantly producing banana blizzards is cake, relatively speaking. They are a double recessive combination of murphy patternless and blizzard.

That is a regular Blizzard, nothing different or special about it. I've worked with Blizzards since 1999 when they really WERE $1500 geckos, and that was for HETS! LOL

Anyhow, some are darker, some are lighter, some are whiter, some are yellower. Some have paradox spots.

I'm positive that some creatively minded leo breeder could in fact line breed for a few years and actually produce an extremely dark Blizzard consistently. Sadly though, not many will take the time and put forth the effort to do this kind of project these days.

That's a project I've pondered doing over the years... I've had the potential ingredients sitting in my rack for five years, but put my Blizzard projects on hold after just two seasons... :(

This is the darkest [Mack Snow] Blizzard I ever hatched...

Last pic before he was sold...

That came from the same pairing as Blackie aka Black Mack... I'm hoping against all odds that my het Radar pair proves to be het for Blizzard... Would love to have a MS Eclipse Blizzard to breed to those darklings' mom... I think the combination of all those genes could produce some sweet Blizzards...

It seems that the ad is in Spanish(Mexico). If the ad is indeed from Mexico the current exchange rate would put this gecko at $114.07 US dollars.
