that was anti climactic....hopefully a lesson learned on the marketing idea for this thread... Good looking hatchling but long toes are a sign of giants??
He spent way too much time in that egg. He is very developed, super colorful and very big for a hatchling. All Bandits come out very bright and then their bold markings and masks come in in about 3-4 weeks, at least that's been our experience. Some come out with no mask and then suddenly it develops. Others come out with a nice full mask. It's variable. Lucky, the striped baby from Zorro came out with very defined bold patterns and a nice mask right out of the egg. It's different for each one as to how and when that all develops.
I did not weigh the gecko since I bothered him a lot to take this picture....not good to stress hatchlings as we all know...fragile, risk of a dropped tail, etc. We normally don't bother them for days but I knew people were anxious about him. He is considerably larger than the normal Bandit hatchling.
Just as a comparison to show variability in these Bandits, here's his sister Lucky. She looks like a completely different gecko, yet they have the same parents. Crazy how different the siblings are in this morph.
