Very cool geckos, Debbie! The Mack Enigmas with the solid black eyes are quite an enigma indeed. I just hathed one from Enigma het R.A.P.T.O.R. to Super Snow Tremper that has solid black eyes. Interesting stuff!

I totally agree Jason!! My theory on this.........I'm not exactly sure how this works, but I think the enigma somehow gets the homozygous eye genes from the SS parent, even if the enigma itself is only a one copy snow. I guess time (and breeding) will tell...........enigmas are the best name EVER for this morph!! (BTW, congrats on your awesome little one!! :D )

Thanks for all the great compliments, everyone!! :D

Hmmm...interesting. I have an adult Mack Enigma that was produced from a Super Snow male, and it has normal looking eyes. It will be interesting to see what else pops up this year. Good luck with all your projects, and let me know what else you find.

Thanks so much everyone!! Marcia, it was I that was honored you came to see my babies!!! :D

Jason, that IS extra interesting...........I wonder if, my theory is correct, it only happens sometimes - not a given? That this trait acts like a dominant gene? Of course, my theory could be nothing at all.......I'm certainly willing to admit if I'm wrong, LOL.........let's definitely compare notes as the season progresses (Jason and I and everyone who's hatching these out!!!) We could all learn a lot. :main_thumbsup:

And did you consider that these traits lie close on chromosome and if they happen to occure once together they tend to be inherited together by the offspring? It would be very interesting!
