I'm using one to incubate my leo eggs, and it's been working fine since mid-march. I check the temps every day to make sure they don't fluctuate too much, but today I woke up to 79 degrees (I'm shooting for 82), the fan is running all day and I haven't any increase in the temp at all. Anybody ever had this problem?

I heard they can be a little wonky and you have to adjust the temps accordingly like if you want 82 you will need to set it to like 85 and there is a difference in the temps from the bottom to the top

Ya, I can testify to that, but it's not what I'm talking about. It has been holding stable, reading 88, but measuring 82 inside the SIM. The problem is that it suddenly doesn't seem to be heating at all. It got down to 79 and the fan seemed to be running all day... doing nothing.

Is it possible you have a defective model? Is there a way you can put a temp probe near the heat source in the fridge and see if any heat is coming out? Does it make sense to turn the incubator temp up and see if the temp rises? If you got it from lllreptile, maybe you can contact them.

I've already turned up the temp, and remembering that for two months it has hovered at a readout of 88 with an internal SIM temp of 81-83 (I use a constant readout inside the SIM), for it to dip to 79 is alarming. Coupled with the fact that it pretty much ran the fan all day, I'm thinking it's not heating. So I turned it up to 90, left it there for several hours, no change in temp. So finally, I took a small tupperware container and filled it with hot water, and put it on the top shelf above the SIM. It quickly brought it up to temp... to hot in fact. So I spent the afternoon putting it in, taking it out, etc. Now it must have cooled down enough to be left in there and stabilize the temp inside the incubator. I'm gonna keep a close eye on it, and will probably call LLL and talk to them about it on Monday.
