Just as it says, my smallest/youngest lost his tail today to a cat.

It was my fault, and I learned from my mistake and it will not ever happen again, undetstand I'm not a bad owner, I'm just an idiot Y-Y Mistakes happen, but I almost lost him to a cat because of this ;_; (I'm taking it pretty hard on myself)

Any info on helping him to destress and/or helping with his tail would be loved. He's been with me for about a month now, eats jsut fine (so far) and was jsut warming up to me holding him. He's horrified of me now, so I'm giving him plenty of room. He's jsut hanging out in his little hiding log...

But still, I'd appreciate any info you have.

He's jsut slightly smaller then an adult's forefinger.

That is so sad! Aww! :(
I hope he feels better soon.

Your gecko and mine could be brothers, by the way! They look so much alike. Mine even has two white spots on his head as well.

awwwwww i know how you feel :(. i lost 2 geckos to tail losses and 2 geckos to sickness. im not a bad owner either, but it turnes out that besides the tail losses, all the petstore leos had been sick and i was the one unfortunate enough to get the 4, 2 from ***** and 2 from ********. they al went from accidents over the period of time. One got scared and jumped and hit my desk hard, another was sick and dropped her tail, and the other 2 got REALLY sick and we blew 100 dollars on a gecko the vet said was perfectly healthy except the fact that she wouldnt eat. the vet gave us stuff for tube feeding her and she died from aspiration :(. the other just got sick and frail....REALLY frail and skinny and woulnt eat AT ALL. SHe died in the hand of the vet :bigcry:. just typing all this is getting me teary-eyed and im not the one to cry about stuff like this, trust me. I wish you the best of luck with another gecko if you get another one or with your others if you have others. Dont take this the hard way, but I learned my lesson about buying from petstores, and you learned your lesson about cats vs geckos, so in the future, you will have learned not to make that mistake again. Please dont take any of this personally or in a bad way, im just trying to give you encouragement in a strange.....odd fashion.

That is so sad :(

When my original pair passed away I was very upset.
My female was 11yo and the male passed almost exactly 1 year later so he
was 12yo when he died :(

I had 2 others die younger from unknown causes, and one of them had to be put down by the vet because she was so sick, and there was nothing they could do.

My heart goes out to you.

keep him in a very clean area so it dont get infected and maybe put some thing on it like wound healing aid for reptile and keep lots water and a moist hide and try not to disturb her to much. Thats all I know to do hope it helps good luck I'll pray for you.
