New Enigma Thread

It shouldn't be about money. It shouldn't be a question of "if you're financially able to" buy into a trait that might have a physiological or neurological defect associated with some offspring. That's simply absurd and completely unethical to promote the financial outlay of considerable amounts of money to buy animals that should be culled.

Diablo Blanco's do not circle when light is increased they find the darkest spot and close their eyes. I should know about that one don't you think Mel?

Also Diablo blanco's arent in question here are they.

I don't own a diablo blanco and i heard they were also light sensitive which is why i asked
sorry i didn't relise i couldn't ask and include other morphs that are also regarded as light sensitive i just wondered as they are regarded as being so wondered if they acted the same, i thought that any gecko that showed simular traits to the enigma was relevant.

i thought all morphs with similar signs were to be included and debated on, i apoligise i didn't know this was not allowed

Im sorry if i seemed to have come across agressive towards you Melanie thats the problem with text it can be taken different ways. The diablo blanco is an interesting morph ( prehaps that is because im a sucker for white geckos with red eyes actually anything with red eyes I love lol )

Steve , last time I seen Christina she was very pleased to here about my enigmas and expressed interest in owning one someday. Seems to me atleast one person in your "family" sees the awesome potential in them.

Any animal that can pass on this defect which some report as resulting in a failure to thrive should be culled. If that is all enigmas, then we need to know that. If it's not, then breeders and resellers have an ethical responsibility to sell healthy animals capable of producing healthy offspring.

I haven't read this whole thread (or any of the other ones going on right now) nor have I read whatever is being referenced on some other forum. I'm not going to read them either, at least not while I'm still on vacation.

Anyway, I just have two points to make right now:

1. The moderators are already watching this thread. ENOUGH with the post reports already. Just because you don't like something that's been said or it somehow interferes with whatever your objectives and intentions are doesn't mean it justifies reporting the post to the moderators. Knock it off. Continued abuse of the post report function WILL result in disciplinary action--consider this the one and only warning.

2. Just a quick scan of this thread reveals a rather sickening amount of immaturity, disrespect, personality conflicts and petty bickering. I don't see it as being at all necessary for discussing the topic at hand. I know we've discussed Enigma genetics and concerns in the past on this forum without this rubbish, and I'm quite skeptical as to whether or not this current discussion fosters the ability to accomplish anything. Therefore, I will be temporarily locking this thread until people have some time to either clear up personal conflicts privately or just plain cool off. Do NOT take this as permission to just spread the negativity to other threads here on GF. I will reopen the thread (or threads... I have to go look at the other two) later.

After further consideration, I don't see the need to reopen this particular thread. If there is a particular issue discussed in this thread that someone would like to revive, I think it would be best to start a new, "clean" thread. Just keep in mind that ethics discussions must be kept in the ethics forum and can not reference or single out any individual or business.

Personally, I'd really like to share some of my own experiences and data regarding the Enigmas, but won't be able to until I return home and get caught up.
