What do I think? WHAT A JOKE!!!, is it just me or is there NOTHING SPECIAL OR NEW about those?

My thoughts exactly.

Plus I'm still saving up (and will be for a few years ;) ) for an enigma.

While I wouldn't pay that price for one and don't find them appealing myself, I think some look pretty cool and good for him for produce them and asking that price.

Sasobek-nice gex-I definitely do see a hint of green in there. Not in any way comparable to the Emerines RT posted, but he has been spending the last few years refining his.

I agree with 420-they are awesome.:main_thumbsup: Definitely take green coloration in leopards to a whole new level! Just think what can be made building on these animals as a foundation. But, having seen them in person, I do have to say that the pictures don't do the animals justice. It must be very hard to capture the green digitally. I'm sure those going to Daytona will see what I mean.....

They are attractive, but Ill wait until they are the same shade of green as this before I buy. But the price tag isnt as large as I would expect it to be. Im sure the future of this morph will be very exciting. However I am kinda disapointed that the albino gene seems to cancel out the green. I have a feeling that the very tangerine murphy patternless geckos crossed with this will look nice, it if is a genetic mutation and not just super tangerine + lavendar

I hope this doesnt start an argument:
I dont understand his definition of the genetics. He explains it as like tangerines (which are linebred) but also says that it is not a linebred trait, it is a single im assuming recessive trait. That is confusing to me, but what do I know, im just a 3rd year biology major...

As much as I thought the DBs were disappointing (in that almost everyone knew what they were genetically before they were even on the market) I think the Emeralds look very cool. I would still have to see one in person before buying one but it's good to know he worked on these for the last few years and refined the trait before hyping them up too much. The color and pattern of the individual geckos will speak for themselves and that is refreshing as opposed to promoting the "genetic package" that is hiding inside. Some of the ones that are on his website are flat out awesome looking.

they're certainly interesting....dont' know that I believe the "random genetic mutation" thing.....and since when is tangerine not linebred at all??...

I was very disappointed with how the pics of them came out on the net. I can tell you (now that Ron has debuted them) that they will absolutely knock your eyes out when seen in person. I've been involved with leopards from the time of their early imports back in the 70s, but these emerines have the biggest "wow" factor of any I've seen. Honestly, my first reaction on seeing one in sunlight was "How is that color even POSSIBLE?".......

I highly recommend that everyone stop by Ron's table at Daytona and see for themselves. I know he's planning to bring a couple of the best examples for display.

BTW-just checked his site andf it looks like they're selling pretty well so far.....

that green color...

I figured the green color isn't being represented accurately,
-kind of playing tricks with my eyes..
they had to be bright to not show up

I know we are all excited to see this 'new' gecko creation, but everyone... lets make sure we keep the topic of this discussion on the morph itself, and refrain from discussing breeder ethics or popularity contests.

I view the emerines this morning and I am not sure if I like them. I was not totally impressed with the pics, however I am sure they look better in person. I am going to wait a few years to see how these further develop before my purchase.

I just wish I had never gotten rid of all my tangerines a while back who's black areas didn't fade all the way and had a 'greenish' tint. Heck, I could hardly give those geckos away because they weren't orange enough for most people!

When I read about the ''new gene mutation'' I expected something really breathtaking... something different, like the enigmas are different to all other Leos.
But I can't really believe that this green is a single gene mutation...
as okapi said the genetical explanation doesn't work for me.
And why did that take so many years to work on a single gene mutation???

At the moment I only have questions about that morph. These geckos are really nice (I like the tangs more :D ) but I would wait and see how they develop...
I hope I will see a ''pic that do them justice'' very soon!

As i stated clearly before, Marcia-yes, I have seen them. Ron and i are old friends. In fact, I've seen them several times (I'm probably a bit of a pest about them:) )..Once you see them in person, they're a bit addicting. And I'M mainly a snake person :p !

I can't comment on the genetics-of course. Ron is, after all, only human (for example, he was wrong -initially- about the "Giants" being simple recessive). If anyone has any doubts, I'm sure all will soon become clear at the rate these are selling:main_yes: I know at least two or three folks who post regularly on this forum will have them.

Sorry but are you getting a percentage of the profits or something ??.SaSobek's are just as green and is even better than some of RT's greens. But pretty much for the most part i'd call SoSobek's & RT's even both just as good as each other. How can you say they do not in any way compair ??.

SoSobek how is this green thing looking today ? you still have ??.
