Big thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread. I love this site and my Geckos thank you for you help. lol. You've really opened my eyes a lot about using sand and housing them two together. I really hoped I could leave them in the same tank so I wouldn't have to get another setup but if it's safer not too, then I will have to do what I gotta do. I'm glad to see i'm doing everything else right. =)

Yep, like someone already said you can get it at pet stores. I personally get it at Pet Co because they sell it in bricks of 3 for $11, so it's better than buying it at $4.50 the brick at other stores. With a tank as big as yours you might go through a brick and a half at a time, so it's something to think about. But it looks like dirt made from coconuts, so it gives the tank a super natural look. I have an album of my tanks somewhere on my profile thing, if you wanted to see how it looks.

I love your setup! I even like that ecoearth a bit better ( as far as looks go) than the sand. I will definately be picking some of this up this week. Thanks. :main_thumbsup:

Also, I hate to sound like such a complete newb but i've noticed in a lot of people's signatures that it will say "1.2 or 1.6 Leo". What does this mean? And how can i figure out what kind of leo my young one is? My adult is for sure just a normal but the young one is bright orange and is striped with like a crown around his head.

I need to proof read when I type, lol.. I meant that I have Coconut fiber (Eco Earth) in my humid hide not in the entire tank. But if you still want to see here are some pictures. I was using paper towels and switched over to craft paper.

(Sorry for the mess. It needs to be cleaned and miss Lana has lately been kicking out all the coconut fiber and calcium all over the place)

The number thing if I remember correctly is the # of Males.Females.Unknown.Eggs

So lets say someone has 2males, 6females, 3 which they don't know the sex of and like 8 eggs cooking it'd read.

2.6.3.8 -- I think that's right, lol.

Thank you! Yea, I personally love ecoearth. I use this for all of my geckos and I wouldn't change to anything else.

The 1.3 thing is how people show how many of what gender they have. The first number (1) is typically male, and the second (3) is female. Then you can go one step further and put something like 2.5.7 and the third number means hatchlings. I've even seen four numbers, with the fourth meaning number of unhatched eggs, but I don't think that's very common.

And to identify your gecko try posting a photo of him on here somewhere. There are people on here that are great at guessing morphs :)

I agree, sand needs to go. You don't need to go to the pet shop and buy reptile carpet or anything that costs.
Just use paper towels. They work great and make a fast clean up! :]

But either than that, everything looks great!

It looks pretty good. Just remember, no sand. Also, leos would benefit more from more floor space, not height.

Haha, Seth Rogan.
