Heya ;D I'm Sarah, 15 years old and I just got my first gecko.
I'm a little worried, seeing as it's been shipped around a bit...my cousin took it in when her friend was going to leave it to die and then she offered me it.
It's curled up in one of its shelters looking pretty sorry for itself - is it just settling in? I can take a picture to show its pose.
It came out in the car on the way here and looked pretty alert, holding its body well and darting into the second shelter (there's a hollow log and a little weird...thing xD) I believe it's a leo, as it has a lot of spots with a yellowish colouring underneath.

Better

She seems to be better,. she's out and looking alert but i'll take a pic anyway for verification of the species xD I'm pretty sure she's a leo, but just to make sure...also, i'll add in the pic i took of her looking sorry for herself :)

also, i could do with some name ideas ;D

You are not supposed to mist the viv, you should have a humid hide that your gecko can retreat to if it needs humidity. Also, you should take out the bark chips and put in paper towel or floor tile. Have a warm side of about 90-93 and a cool side of about 80.

If she didn't eat right away don't worry too much. Sometimes they won't eat the first few days until they are comfy. Good Luck!

She looks just fine, some tail pics would be good too though.. If she has a nice, plump tail, then that's great! If it's super skinny, then she will definitely need some extra attention to bounce back and be healthy again.

I agree, she is probably just a little stressed from the move. Give her a few days and she will turn around. I also agree with getting rid of the wood chips. I use tiling myself and find it much nicer, not to mention easier to clean. :main_thumbsup:

Good of your cousin for taking in the gecko! I don't know if someone who was going to leave out an animal to die would stay my friend, though...

What a cute gecko! I hope you have fun together- definitely look up care sheets and ditch the wood chips.
