Yesterday, Leon and I went with some of my relatives to the North Bay Herpetological Society's 11th Annual Reptile Bazaar in Petaluma, CA before Leon had work! We picked up 2 gorgeous SHTCTB leopard geckos, 1 Albino african fat tail gecko (Our 1st AFT!), and 1 normal okeetee corn snake (Our 1st Snake!). We purchased them from Marcia of Golden Gate Geckos (Thank you VERY MUCH Marcia! The Sweet Gecko Lady :D), Jonathan of SFGeckos (If you see this, thanks so much, WE OWE YOU! Hehe!), and The Ritchie Family of The Corn Snake Pit.

I cropped these images so they wouldn't be so huge! We love our new babies and we're excited to raise them :D

Now those are some very nice SHTCTB's! I never looked at marcia's too closely because I don't have that project, but I know where I will get one now if I need it :) I sure hope I get cool gifts like that if I break down and get married ;)

Very nice adds! Love that fat tail. That reminds me I need to grab a few albino hets. Apparently the fertility rate is better if you breed albino x het as opposed to albino x albino. A respected breeder recently told me that he knows a guy who's trying to mass produce AFTs. He's got like 500 or something.

Those tangs are killer Marcia!

Nice corn snake too. If I didn't already have too many kings and milks I'd get some corns.

Those are great finds! I wish we had people that bred geckos as nice as those around here. Marcia's geckos are always amazing so it is no surprise to me how beautiful your little girl is. Good luck with all your new additions!!

Thank you everyone! The shtctb's are actually much brighter in person, so my uncle (who took the pics) will be trying out different ways to make it more accurate!

And thanks Marcia! Once we walked up to your table, Leon spotted Sunkiss right away and said "I want that one!" Hehehe. Sunkiss is HUGE too compared to my other 3 month old leo - I need some feeding tips! Hehehe.

The snake is lovely! I always read that they're nervous and nippy at first, but this one took well to handling. I even handled him one more time at night (even though I knew not to touch him for another 2 days so he settles in), but he didn't care, he just explored :) This snake makes me want AT LEAST one more corn, but I think I'll just stick to this one so I can have more leos (hehe). I'm too afraid of other snakes just because I don't like the "strike" motion - even though the bite won't hurt in corns, I just don't want to see the "strike" :p So... no venomous or big snakes for me! :D How's the milksnake though?

And to Jason - he has 500 AFTs?! Wow that's a lot of geckos :p I wish I had that much room in my house to accommodate that many geckos! I'd have a reptile zoo if I did!

Milksnakes are generally more nervous than corns, but I haven't been bitten by one yet. I have 2 pairs of Andean Milk Snakes, and they are very calm and sweet snakes. They got scared and musked on me when they were babies, but they're known as a very calm milk and I must agree. They get pretty big too, 5'-6'.

It's all in the handling. If you make a bunch of noise when you open the cage and just grab the snake it will likely strike at you. But if you're patient and wait until the snake is facing away from you, this is the best way. Sometimes they'll turn and think about biting you, but more often they try to flee. Just grab them gently so they know you're friendly and you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah, somebody has 400-500 fat tails, I guess some albinos and a bunch of hets probably. Why you would want to mass produce fat tails and thus drive the price down makes no sense to me. If you didn't drive the price down, you could get the same money for less geckos. I'm not into mass production anyway, just pointing that out.

Oh yes, I'm very patient! I normally don't just open the cage and pick them up. I sit there, open the cage gently, put my hand in slowly, and pick them up when I think they look ready. I thought of getting a milksnake, and your response is making me think of possibly getting one in the future once all my reptiles are all settled. I'll let you know how that goes!

And I don't think I could ever mass produce anything, but I wouldn't mind having enough room to house that many reptiles as pets (I was thinking: Room for 10-20 AFTs could be room for one Russian Tortoise). I don't have the space or the time, so what I have now is good enough! Hehehe. I think as long as you breed, keep your reptiles happy and healthy, as well as maintaining the price without bringing it down, it's all good :main_thumbsup: So in a way, I agree :p

Ah ReptileMan! This is the forum I've seen you on!! I thought I was just trippin' and got your name mixed up with all the other forums that Leon & I are a part of. LOL.

And thanks Michael & Debbie :) I'm glad you like them! I'll try to make the Sac Show, but it's looking like a No because Leon is most likely going into work. Erg, I hate how he hasn't had a weekend off in a month!! Hopefully we can make the show in San Jose though!
