Nice setup. It would look natural, only natural substrate for leopard geckos is hard, packed clay... so, the sand isnt necessarily natural for them. But to each his own... It is your leo and your setup, so whatever makes you happy. I really like the wood pieces. They look nice.

yeah i agree the only substrate which i think would be natrual is zoo med excravator clay but i costs a bomb and uve gotta wait 3 days for it to set and that means finding a temp home and its impossible to clean.

Yeah it is EXPENSIVE I had to put some for a 20 long when I got my first Leopard the clay cost me upward to 40 dollars and it is hard to clean. If you want to use that clay first find out where he poops and stuff then put a small piece of paper so you do not have to buy new clay ever month or so.If you want a paper to look natural you can paint it with a non-toxic paint or spray.

and i have to admit that fine play sand is much better imo than calcium sand or larger grained sands... still not a sand fan, but id rather use that than calcium.

To me as long as the enviornment they are house in is done correctly then theres really no reason not to do what you want. Everytime someone want to show off wht they have and they have sand it turns into a sand debate. I always tell people when they buy a gecko off me that theres less of a chance of things going wrong with a non loose substrate but its their option. It is a free world you know!

As for keeping the cords from looking tacky or keep them from being seen I would use a cord duct/wire conduits. They are just basically just plastic square pieces that you put the cord in to hide them. Or you can just do what Robin says and use some wire tires.

Heres a link to what the wire conduits look like.

I would hardly call this a debate. Seriously chillax :) We have all just expressed our own opinions in a nice cordial manner and I think we all agree that this is a very nice set up.

You may want to think about a UTH strip for along the backside of the tank between the tank and wall. It will help with heating. OR you could move it to an inside wall and that should help hugely! Nice looking otherwise!

I think it looks great. Just make sure the Leo(s) inside do not have food put directly inside the cage if your feeding crickets feed them in a separate tub to keep them from snatching up some sand while diving for the crickets. If your feeding meal worms then put them in dish deep enough they cant crawl out. =)
