Hello, names Tim, I just recently purchased two young Leopard gecko's. I'm not new to keeping them, in fact I successfully raised one about 6 years ago. What I'm trying to obtain from this is a little more insight on the husbandry of these wonderful animals.

Currently I have them housed together, they were purchased together and I am also currently working on purchasing and setting up another 10 gal. tank, so I can separate them. I got them on Sunday, March 14th and since then they have been pretty lethargic. Well the larger patterned one has been at least, he keeps a constant state of stress it seem's arching his back constantly, he never seems to rest ( see photo ) The patternless one seems to be doing fine and managed to watch it eat a few mealworms. I have yet to see the patterned gecko eat anything....This has me worried. My temps are fine, my substrate is paper towels, i have a moist hide and a cool and hot hide, They were on calcium sand if that helps in diagnosis, the first few stools were riddled with sand. I'm hoping that they can recover.

Also, perhaps you all could help me morph them?
Thanks.

Also, I was not the one to have them on calcium sand substrate, Im not that stupid. It was the ignorant pet shop keeper.

give them another week,
try olive oil on their noses and let them lick it off to try to get the patterned one to fecate.
im no good with morphs, someone else will have to help you with that. separate them soon if you can, you'll want to get a fecal exam done to see if they have worms or not.

Give them another week, gotcha. I'm going to be continuing to attempt feeding them by dropping the mealworms and waxworms in front of them, I also keep a lid with mealworms and calcium in there 24/7. I'm just hoping that they perk up a bit.

keep the dish of calcium in there and the mealworms available at all times, very good :)
and try feeding them in a seperate area without hides or such to block the view of the worms. make sure the hot side temps are 95F cool side room temp. water at all times. and just give them a few days to settle in without picking them up too much :) let them get used to their surroundings.
good luck!

I would guess that the white one is a blizzard and the other seems to be an albino. I don't know if its lighter bands are more white than yellow because it's a snow albino or because it will color up once it gets some more food (though it looks fairly well-nourished for its size).

I'm not sure what other answers you're looking for but it can take a while for Leos to settle into a new home and get on a regular eating routine. Moving is always very stressful. It's best to just leave them alone for the first couple of weeks. Make sure they have water, calcium, and mealworms but try not to handle them at all.

I agree with Aliza's morph guesses at the moment. Take pictures again in a few weeks once they're settled in and I'm sure everyone can help you identify the morphs more definitively.

In my screen I see red in the blizzards eyes, does anyone else see it. If it is my guess is Mack Snow Blazzing Blizzard. What Ohio breeder did that come from? That might help identify it.

What is your hot spot temp and how are you measuring it?

I see exactly what you're talking about.. it's very very dull and because the picture is a bit blurry, this makes it harder to discern whether or not it is really a red eye or camera issues, though given the dullness of the red I'd wager it's likely a red eye and not so much from the camera. That's just my opinion regarding the camera at least :)

I'm 500 different ways of clueless about the leos, not so much the cameras =D

The all white one looks a lot like an albino super snow that I had hatch out a few weeks ago. That would be my best guess. Hard to tell without seeing better/clearer pics

I don't know if this helps but, it took mine more than a few weeks to completely calm down. When I first got Lola she didn't eat for a few days but then she finally started. Pet store told me, give them a few days to settle down, which they did, but there was still a bigger difference in Lola's behavior after 3 to 4 weeks. She was beyond just settled down... by then she and I had a routine which put her so much more at ease than she was just after a few days.

Hope this helps
David
