Just dropping a line to say hi and introduce myself. I've been into reptiles my whole life, but mostly pythons, balls and burmese's for the most part, some boa's, etc etc. But i've been thinking on the whole gecko thing for a couple years now, had to downsize the snake collection due to the birth of my daughter prematurely. the ex didn't want the baby around anything "dangerous" and i respected that.

Got back into the scene recently, been sticking to smaller herps, a beardie, a rainbow boa, a ball python, and of course research on gecko's but i found a beautiful collection of leopard gecko's at an amazing deal, so now i'm the proud owner of 12 leo's. Looking forward to putting all my hours of research to use. One of the females has already been bred this season, may even have a hand at learning about the rearing of hatchlings.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone, and expanding my knowledge and interacting with these amazing gecko's i've ignored due to its tiny status.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I've been ghosting this forum and a couple others for a while now, while in the debate of which gecko if any would be right for me, I always try to tell myself stick with experience and snakes, lol. But, its always good when you try something new, and heck, after an afternoon of setting them up and watching them explore and check out the new cribs, i realized what the big deal was.

Leo's and FATS=]

Welcome to the forums.

yeah, there have been a lot of gecko's or even young bearded dragon's, numerous reptiles i've love to have owned but avoided due to the whole keeping bugs thing, i prefer the whole frozen rodent mode, lol, but now the doors wide open. just a matter of finding a feeder better and cleaner then cricket's now.

My leos love mealworms. They don't make any noise, and don't smell at all. Also, they're fairly clean...you just gotta deal with the bedding, which is usually like bran flakes or something similar.

Yeah, i'm at a toss up between a dubai roach colony or meal worms. i'll probaly do one more order of crickets, since they came with so many already, and i need to get a set up for the next feeders. I've been leaning towards roaches, figure it would give my adult beardie, anarchy, bigger feeder bugs, and i could cut the pinkies out of his monthly diet. But that's just a thought. Like to make sure i'm ready.
