Well after a couple days with my buddy Mike we finally finished one of the many racks to come. Heat-tape and everything it is our best built rack to date. Let us know what you think.

sweet bud, I gotta get pics of my 2 new racks up, built a 88 container 15 qt, and a 72 container 12 qt. Built mine differently though, mine doesnt look as nice as yours, functionality is all that matters though;-) curious how much did you spend building that after wood and tape?

OK Wow a lot of questions. Altogether the total with tubs heat tape and wood was right around $200. $60 for tubs ($2 a piece at big lots) around $100 for heat-tape and $40 for wood. The wood is MDF 1/2 inch. Its cheap and looks good and is lighter than melamine. Anything else let me know... Oh it wasnt too hard to build with the right tools.

So FL.
I've used Melamine for my racks and the weight is the only major downside IMO. Hopefully in the next 1-2yrs I plan to replace them with PVC racks, but I plan to build them myself. I looked into it about 2yrs ago when I upgraded my Melamine cages to Boaphile cages. The 4X8 sheets of PVC were $30-$50 from the manufacture. I wasn't confident enough to attempt and build my own cages for a number of reasons. But, building a rack is just a matter of cutting the PVC and welding (glue) it together. I just can't justify paying $300-$400 for a rack that holds 8-10 small tubs...LOL

Have any of you looked into using PVC/Sintra/others for your racks? I might give it a try next year, if I need an extra rack. If any of you decide to try it before me, let me know how it goes.

Here is some information:

Ok finaly took a few pics, sorry about the weird angles and such, the thing you have to realize is my reptile room used to be a tanning room, its VERY small, These pics are from litterly the only angle I could get a picture of the full adult rack at. The hatchling rack was alittle easier:p

PS.
Please excuse the messy floor, I didnt get a chance to clean it yet, just got the hatchling rack into the room, the floor needs a good cleaning:p
