Hi! I am a new leopard gecko owner and these are my babies. I'm just curious as to what they are. Are they normal?

Taffy. Her eye I didn't get a pic of is so cool! It looks like a snake eye outlined in yellow.

Here's more pics of Dots. I use florescent lights in the house so I changed the lighting on the camera in these ones.

I don't know, dots doesn't even look like a leo to me, I could just be a fuitcake but, I don't know the tail just doesn't look like a leos, and the eye, maybe another eublepharis sub species?

Wow, I guess the pet store owner doesn't know a thing! I knew there was something different about him because I read you can't sex a leo that young but Dots is 10g and obviously a boy. Do I need to seperate him from Taffy. They have their different areas they like and are not aggressive to each other. Dots is such a sweet baby and I'm in love with him but kinda irritated I was sold a leopard gecko that's not a leopard gecko. He does look like the Central American Banded.

Definitely not a leopard gecko. Sorry you got duped =( But you brought the question to the right forum. This community is a fail-safe.

yea, Dots is a banded

however, taffy doesnt look like a snow to me, she looks like a malnourished, stressed out petstore normal.... Her color will likely brighten as she adjusts

i would separate them for sure

I just got Taffy on Christmas Eve from the local pet store. She has been a little piggy, eating everything in sight. She inhaled 3 wax worms and Dots didn't get any. She is also eating meal worms and crickets, I just gave her the wax worms as a treat. I didn't want to overdo it on the wax worms though. Can I offer her more? She ate them Saturday. She's very active but still seems stressed. She's hissed at me a couple times. Dots I've had for 3 weeks and is so tame and easy to handle. He has already shed twice.

Sorry about dots! If you not happy with her then I wold take her back and ask for a refund or a trade.

Taffy is a snow for sure. She is still young and you can tell whether they are snows when they are young. They are born black and white and you can tell the black and white is starting to fade and the white is turning yellow. Most snows will look llike that when they are young and starting to change.

Now when you get a mature snow thats when you can't generally be sure about it or not.

I knew from even the first glance that Dots wasn't a leo. But wow! He's really neat looking! I bet that he'll do great with you! Taffy is nice too, cute name. :)
