I just hatched out this clutch from enigma to redstripe cross. Now the one is unmistakebly a enigma, but the one pictured first is not as defined as far as the classic markings go. My vote would me enigma(but of course im bias..lol) LEt me know what everyone thinks. The questionable one is all the pics but the last, that is the clutch mate(enigma)

Wow, it definitely looks similar to an Enigma but I'm not sure that it is. I've never seen one with banding and a head pattern quite like that. Maybe after a shed of two it'll be more obvious. Congrats on them!

I would agree enigma but eyes are most of the time not a give away. THis little one will hopefully be easier to ID in a few sheds.

Not trying to hi-jack.....but see what you think as well.....

Pat - The only thing that leads me to say enigma is the tail banding...see how spaced out they are...they just remind me of what I've seen on enigmas. Also, the "odd" arm-speckling looks enigma-ish, to me.

Mike- I definetly think yours is a enigma, that banding and eyes are very kool

Paul- I would agree the banding is very strange and enigma like.

I actually check on these guys this morning and he was circling for like 5 minutes, so i guess my question is answered...lol

Thanks for all the comments guys

Maybe the tail banding gene in the enigma can be passed on as a seperate trait? Because it looks like a normal, but then the tail makes me wonder.

Nice Geckos Pat and Mike. Sorry to hear about the circling thing again. Are all of your Enigmas doing it? Just curious. I wonder if it would still circle if it wasn't an Enigma by just being the offspring of an Enigma? Any thoughts.

That is a good question frank, I have found thus far the non-enigma clutchmates have not circled. Now I have hatched dozens of these yet but thus far i have only seen circling in enigmas.

That's a good answer Pat. Thanks for the info. It will be helpful someday when I can actually afford an Enigma...lol

BTW- The MSHB male I have from you is getting quite large... Since November he has grown like a freak... I will have to weigh him later and fill you in. He also looks outstanding and gets lighter as he gets older, really weird. The female is getting larger too, but just not as fast as the boy.
