I had an early bird last year and he's doing great-actually bit me for the first time yesterday-twice! He got off to a slow start where I didn't think he'd live at all, but then started eating and gaining. He's an odd color and never did catch up to the other hatchlings yet in weight, so we may keep him.

Lottiz,

I am sure that this little guy will make it just fine, like Robin said, they are tough little buggers, and will surprise you at how strong they really are.

When my RAPTOR hatched, he was really tiny and seemed really weak, but he is growing like a weed now :)

Keep us updated on both of them :)

At home...at least!

So here is my darling cutie:

AR1-26002.jpg

nice red eyes (hope he will keep them :main_yes: )

And his little brother, but...i don't think this guy have opened his eyes or ears. And you can see two toes on his right front foot and left back foot look like they aren't split!

But I also found this guy to day (on day 35, think I got a little to warm in the incubator...).... Hyglo giant line.
I have put him together with the one day older AR1(aptor/Raptor1) and you can see it's much bigger! A giant :main_rolleyes: -I hope so!
He is 4 gram and 2 days early. My little RA no1 was...0 gram  ...

But I think he will be a jungle, not Hyglo...

have faith in the little guy lottiz. we take for granted sometimes how strong they can be even though they are so small and delicate :)

another tip is that you keep him in the male incubator for a few days. to keep him warm all the time. dont want the little ones getting too cold. after a few days and you feel he is getting a bit strong put in in his own enclosure :)

my little one lived in the incubator for a week

I've also heard of this being used on premature geckos, they put him in a small container with some damp kitchen towel in and left him in there... It worked a treat !!!
Good luck with him

AR1 is just great.

AR2 has opened his eyes and ears now. And the toes are split just as normal.

This what was i saw then he hatch.

yup thats exactly how i do it, if i have a preemie and it does work very well :)

just use a deli cup or plastic container with holes in it and make sure and keep them well hydrated by misting and keep them on paper towels. its best to keep them in your male incubator since it has a nice warm constant heat.

I'm so happy!
I have to hold them and handfeed them but AR1 took his second worm yesterday and AR2 the first one!
Very good indeed ;)

wow they are so small...and pinker than normal aptor/raptor hatchlings!
GoGo, I think its generally a few days like one or two they have to shed for the first time eat there shed then poop it out. After first poop start feeding.
