Welcome to GF:

Cat: as long as you have a tight cover on the cage and the cage is in a place where the cat can't knock it over, you should be fine.

Tangerine morph: There's a great variety of tangerines out there from dirty gray/orangish to neon orange to nearly blood red. The prices vary as well. If you like orange (as I do), it's a good way to go. Take a look at lots of pictures of leopard gecko morphs (check out leopardgeckowiki.com as well as the many pictures on these forums) and see what you like.

Thanks for the quick response.

So would you say putting it on my table in the corner of the wall with a tight lid be okay? with the cat I doubt he would beable to somehow pull it out of the corner and then manage to knock it over.

Ill be sure to go to leopardgeckowiki.com aswell. :D

Tangerine morphs are one of the most popular in Leopard geckos. There are several different lines of tangerines and a great variety of colors as Aliza explained. Welcome to GF :)

There's a putty that you can place under the tank to make sure that it does not slide off the table (it is used to fix vases and other decorations to furniture). I don't know the brand name, but they sale it at Lowes and Home Depot

One thing about tangerines, some lines fade quite a bit while others keep their color. The latter are usually priced higher, so do your research before you buy.

I like the solid colored Tangerines rather than striped ones except for tail.
What would you say the price of those go for roughly? I Watson some website that resides In Canada and I saw some going for nearly $900 seems like alot for a little pet, but is that the estimate price for these kinds?

If you only want a pet & you are not interested in breeding those probly ain't for you 900 is some big change lol
Look though the classifieds here on gecko forums you'll find one you like that's cheaper a lot cheaper lol

My fave tangs are emerines, inferno & Firefox. Spelled one those wrong

I have a few Tangerines and they are my favorite.

I would check the Classifieds on this site or locally as that will probably be your best bet, sometimes you can even find a breeder in your area and work something out.
Good luck and hopefully you'll let us know when you find that special gecko.

If you have a curious cat I would just make sure the top of the tank is sturdy enough that if the cat jumps on it or sits on it for a while it won't cave in. Other than that the cat and gecko should be fine. Tangerines without hypo or any kind of other morph mixes in can be a bit pricey. If you look into SHTs (super hypo tangerines) you'll find some gorgeous orange geckos at more reasonable prices. Also look for SHTCTs and SHTCTBs - they're variations of the same thing (CT = carrot tail - and the B = baldy or a gecko with no spots of its head). Good luck!!

What do you or anyone else think about Sunglows? Also what do you think the price est is for them?

Price all depends on quality. Sunglows can be anywhere from $75-$900 depending on quality and what line of tangerine was used. What is your budget for a gecko? Gecko daddy has some nice sunglows for $150+ shipping.

See the sponsor banner above for breeders...many ship to Canada. Golden Gate Geckos has some of the nicest sunglows, and the The Urban Gecko is a breeder located in Canada that will offer sunglows as well.

I found this one on GeckoDaddy , would the color stay the same as it is in the photos or darken or even lighten up?
Is there a difference between getting a Male or Female Leo?

I had a cat fall thru a screen top and eat my gecko. The same cat managed to get another top off.
Dont under estimate yours. Just be super careful. Said cat isnt allowed access to that portion of my basement anymore.

The Urban Reptile has lovely geckos but tends to be expensive, especially for someone looking for a first pet.

Thanks for the warning I will definitly think about this. I would be heartbroken If I knew my cat ate my gecko.

Is there any other reputable sites other than Urban that arent as expensive?
