I'm a little into drag racing myself! Not professionally of course. I'm not much of a FORD guy, more like CHEVY GM guy. I have a 95 Buick Roadmaster with a modded LT1 engine (that's a corvette engine for those of you who aren't aware). It goes really fast for a grandfather lookin car . I just love it when these HONDA people are revving their little engines next to me at a stoplight only to see my tail lights and tire smoke between us!:main_laugh:

I don't know if you can call this a hobby but I also LOVE playing Texas Holdem. We have poker nights on a monthly basis.

No offence but I know a few Honda's or even other imports that can kick so serious butt. Its called race and rice, and there is a big diffrence....Rice= ppl who make there car loud and obnocsous for no reason, and put diffrent tail lights etc. no motor mods. Racer= A car that has a reason to be loud aka 2 1/2-3 inch exhaust for better flow, a car that looks nice but isnt obstsed with it, and has a diffrent motor or alot of motor work turbo, supercharged etc. My friends honda civic with just a little bit bigger motor beat a brandy new chevy cobalt ss suoercharged. It was quite funny! :main_laugh: But dont get me wrong I love my chevys too:main_thumbsup: (not fords, idk why I just never liked them) Ohh and also, do you think maybe the "little hondas" reving there engins at you just wanna have a little fun? Or want to see a nice car do a sweet burn out? There are ALOT of ricers out there, that I think are not so "cool" myself! I know that for a fact, but dont diss imporst just b/c of the stupid RICERS!:main_thumbsdown:

Daily I drive a 2003 honda accord. Nothing special, but she's pretty quick; so easy on the Hondas!!
I'm in the process of renovating my 1969 Buick-Oldsmobile Opel GT (That's right, opel GT... rare, gorgeous... she's my baby!!!) Candy red, custom interior; she's not for racing, more for show. Oh, and she's an automatic! TRY to find another running pre-70's automatic opel gt in the states! (I think there's 1... in AZ.) But you wanna talk about an import that can kick butt??? hehe, this is it... and you'd be getting beat by a GIRL

I agree, ricers are little highschool dropout kids with fart cans on the back of their talons.

But ricers can also reffer to cobalts that try to play the same game. its just the style of car.

but we also point at the fact that you guys go and buy a import rated at 80 horsepower and 30 footpounds of torque. while we buy domestic cars that are rated at 185 horsepower and 200 footpounds of torgue.

we just dont understand thats all.

I only dis the people that are American Muscle haters. Some of my friends laugh at the fact that I have an american car. They will put tons of money into their foreign vehicles just to go a fraction of a second faster than mine. I have put less than 1K to their 6K on my car. Like I said I'm not dissin everyone, just the ones who dis me.

alot different than your average driving test.

ill actually be setting date for next years liscense.
you have to make a;
9 second pass at 140
8 second pass at 160
7 second pass at 180
along with the other various g-force rating test.

So I dont drive cars myself but dirt racing is a big deal here in Delaware. So basically when I'm not playing with the geckos, snakes, dogs, or cats and any other type of rescue animal that seems to find its way into my home I'm at the track watching stock cars. Friday nights are a big deal here at the track. The drags are out and every now and then I watch them too. Other than that my man is trying to go pro in motocross so that takes up a lot of time as well. I'm also a part time nurse and going to college to get my masters degree full time during the day. WHEW!!!! Anyone else tired just talking about it. O yeah. I also am a handler of dogs. Which means I take them to shows and show em off to the judges AND I do agility with my cattle dog. I'm pretty sure that's all I do.

Don't you mean 3 miles in 10 minutes?lol. No car can go 200mph and really be street drivable. I think you're pulling our chain Tonya, unless you have a totally different engine setup! Those cars have a speed limiter. They can't go over around 120mph.

There are cars out there that exceed 200 miles per hour and are street legal. many motorcycles do as well.

I four wheel, play paintball, lift weights, play video games, enjoy music immensely, and like to go out and hang with my friends, which can be anything to chaos at the movie theatre to the boardwalk.

you figure some of our cars run 0-190 in 7 or 8 seconds. and thats in the 1/4 miles.

so theres no way her little escort or whatever is pulling 180 down the freeway.

As for real motor vehicles. Cars cant hold a candle to todays superbikes. Some pro drag racer took a stock Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and pulled an 8.4 or 8.7 on the quarter mile. Stock. Thats amazing. What sucks is that japanese motorcycle companies no long manufacture bikes to go over 187, not out of the factory, so after that its fair game for anyone to do as they please. The electronic contol unit limits them all to a 187 mph top speed. I'm sure all of you car and auto junkies have heard of the Hayabusa. Theoretucally, both it and the ZX-14R by kawasaki could both do 220 if it wasnt for the ECU....
