I think I just answered my own question. I just found this - Wildlife Not Requiring a Permit
1. Reptiles, amphibians (nonvenomous native species that are not listed as endangered, threatened, species of special concern, or otherwise regulated; nonvenomous nonnative species not listed as Reptiles of Concern)
this is on the florida fish and wildlife webpage.

I'm nearly positive geckos don't fall into the list of Reptiles of Concern lol. You probably did answer your own question :)

Lol well I live in Florida and I post public videos of my geckos and I have not been arrested so I would say you are safe!

Where do you live in FL? Because maybe it is different there.

wait, you didnt know leopard geckos are a very invasive species and if they escape they will take over florida and hold us for ransom. lol.

no permits are needed to own. if you plan on breeding and want to sell at shows then you need a permit for that.
