Thanks for taking me through this whole process. You've really been there for me, whatever I asked! :) 6 weeks, really? Oh okay then...I feel a little better about that. She's HUGE, so it should be anytime now I guess.

I think I definatly screwed up the water. I added some every now and then when I thought it felt dry. That in combination with the temperature fluctuations we have here in wonderful South Florida. This gives me a much better idea about what to do different with the upcoming 4th clutch.

Again, I owe you so many thank you's. Mostly for always pointing me in the right direction. I'll get it right eventually. And I'll keep ya updated regarding fertility of the new eggs (crossing everything I can possibly cross!)

You are very welcome, we always love to help :)

and yeah, the problem with Perlite is that it does still feel dry when it's moist enough.. you can tell it's still moist by balling it in your palm and it should clump well, but not drip.

You could also consider getting a thermostat for your incubator. We haven't gotten one yet, but plan to before next season due to our temp. fluctuation problems.

Another good thing to do is put in a few ziploc baggies filled with water under the grate at the bottom of your incubator. They are called "heat syncs" and they ensure that the temperature doesn't fluctuate too quickly. The reason for this is because water takes much more time to heat up or cool down than air does. So once the water is at the right temp, if you open your incubator, it will take much more time for the temperature inside to decrease. Hope that makes sense, lol

Here is a great website that shows incubating instructions step-by-step: http://www.albeysreptiles.com/incubate-eggs.htm
The only thing we do differently from this guide is that we only keep two eggs to a container because hatchlings tend to turn other eggs that are in the container (and that also caused problems for us this year).

Best of luck to you in all that you do!!
