I don't see any "black-out". The darker section is the shell, it seems transparent in some places. I have been incubating at 88-90 deg for 30 days. PLEASE say they are still good.

They seem to look good, the darker area looks like the baby, but you said it was the shell itself that was dark? What does it look like in normal lighting?

It should be another 4-5 days or so..

it seems like the shell...in the light it doesn't look transparent, so maybe you're right. My camera isn't the best but there are veins everywhere. Today's day 31. It's killing me, lol

MORE pics for you all to evaluate...

I am such a nervous wreck. I'm really trying not to be concerned. But that's not happening. Anyways, here we are at day 33. Today, this is what we look like... it's much more yellow-ish on one side in real life, as my camera for some reason just has a red tone. But I guess all those dark spots are good, right?? Please let me know what you think. Thank you all so, so much. I'm sorry if i'm annoying. I live alone, and you guys are all I got. Thanks again.

In my opinion, the black spots are good. That shows the baby.

What types are the parents? Seems like the baby is of a darker pigment.

Parents are both SHTCT- moms a B. Here, I'll post one of Mom and Dad.

Dad is on top...2y/o SHTCT 66% het for Bell Hybino from Sean Aubrey. He's 80 g.
Mom is on bottom is A stunning 6 month old SHTCTB, with some Tang I think, from The Gecko Ring. She's about 50 g.
I hope their babies are pretty!
I think one of the eggs is sweating right now...

I didn't know that they can mate at six months old.

I guess they know when they are ready though and the males know. Usually males don't mess with babies and malnourished geckos, which is amazing.

Tell us when it hatches with pics. I am feeling happy with you.

From my experiance, and from what i've been told, as long as they are around 50g and full size, which she seems to be, and in good health (there's no question there) they're suitable. Arson loves her to death, and he's particularly protective of her. Thanks for everyone's responses, and believe me, i'll keep everyone posted.

Just one more day until day 35 :)

Just one thing, I know you're excited but try not to disturb the egg too much.. it will hatch when it's ready, and it looks great :main_thumbsup:

Typicall 50 grams and one year is optimum. But they can breed pretty early on.

And, they're not really the type to know when they're really ready. They just act on instinct.

The eggs look find to me. Just try to leave them alone and be patient, which can be very hard to do, especially the closer to hatching. Good luck. The babies will probably be banded and loose their bands and most of the spots as they age. Sometimes when you candle eggs that are far along in incubation it can be hard to see anything. Sometimes you won't even get the red glow, depending on where you candle and where the gecko is.

I give up

Well I just came home from a wonderful 4th of July dinner and found out that both of my eggs had collapsed and leaked green stuff everywhere. It stunk to HIGH HEAVEN. It appears as if both embryos died earlier on. I am EXTREMELY discouraged right now. I think I'm gonna go cry.

What am I doing wrong??? Maybe I put too much water in the Perlite? Or I'm not adding water correctly? Or the damn power outage? I don't get it.... and my female has been gravid for like 3 weeks now, she's showing NO signs of laying anytime soon. She lays around like a sack of flour. Now that I REALLY want her to lay these eggs, Murphy's Law says that she probbably won't. I am so, so frusterated and discouraged. :( :(

I'm very sorry and can understand your frustration.

You mentioned a power outage.. Too much temp fluctuation at one time can cause problems.. we had three (out of five) eggs that were highly affected by temp. flux. One died about two weeks before it was due, and one died around its due date - I cut the egg open and the baby had two heads! The third egg, the baby survived, but with a birth defect.

You also mentioned adding water.. Once you prepare a container for eggs, do you add more water as time goes by, or just leave it be? If there are no air holes in the container, you shouldn't have to add any more water throughout the entire incubation period. Humidity levels fluctuating too much can also cause problems, so if you are adding more water during the incubation period, this is something you have to really be careful with.

Please don't be so discouraged, these things do happen and it's really out of our hands a lot of the time.

As for your female, some can take up to 6 weeks (perhaps even more?) to lay one clutch. I wish you the best of luck, I hope things turn around for you!!!
