In the other thread, I said that there was some white stuff on my only fertile egg of the season, and the egg was very soft. It's been almost three hours since I saw the white spot, and it may be sweat, but I don't know. I'm incubating at 83-84 at day 65. Please tell me what I should do, here's a picture of the egg in question showing the white "sweat"?

It's on the top left hand corner of the egg...should I just wait it out?

just let nature run its course... it'll hatch when it is ready.

Thank you! I read somewhere that when the egg starts to get soft, it's getting ready to hatch. This egg is soft..is that good?

Thanks Tiffany:main_thumbsup:. I'll just let nature work its wonders then. The egg is still soft, but it seems to have swelled quite a bit. Does this mean it's getting ready to hatch?

Like I told you yesterday, just leave it be. Usually you'll see tremendous swelling the week prior to the egg hatching, sometimes a few days prior.

Thanks Whitney, I'll do that. It's swelled, yep. Day 66, all's good. Thorsten, would it deflate or smell bad?

I just had a feeling you were going to log in and post something about them :p

Let me guess, You are running around like a chicken with its head cut off waiting for them to hatch............:main_laugh:

Lol I actually just found something to keep me occupied while she's taking her sweet time. Movies! Maybe if I fall asleep and wake up in the morning she'll finally have hatched...hmm...

Day 67 and still no hatchling...I'm thinking of letting it two or three more days before I consider it dead, but I'll still keep it in the container.

Remember there are cases of the extremes. We read the books and know what should happen but nature doesn'e always go by the books. Best wishes.
