quit getting your panties in a ball! This will never come CLOSE to even happening.

:main_thumbsdown: :main_thumbsdown: :main_thumbsdown: :main_thumbsdown:

You still can write letters, e-mails, & and phone call to make sure that it doesn't!!!!!

Even if it seems like HR669 won't be passed because it's more work than it's worth, I'd still rather do something about it instead of just sit back and let them decide our pets' future. Sending an email and reposting a message is not that hard, so why not do it?

:main_thumbsdown::main_no:, people sitting around thinking this wont or cant happen should be ashamed of themselfs. This is very real and could very likely happen if we do not stand together and fight this:main_thumbsup:. The worst thing you can do is nothing:main_thumbsup:

A reponse like this really makes me wonder if our letter are really being read by congress... I got the same email twice already... Word for word... Are we really being heard??? You tell me...

Dear Mr. Madden,

Thank you for reaching out to my office to express your views on animal rights.

I am proud to be an advocate for the humane treatment of animals. Animals and pets are important to us all - in fact, my own family has a wonderful west highland white terrier named Scout who is a constant source of joy in our lives. I look forward to addressing this important issue with my colleagues in the 111th Congress.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding this important issue. Please feel free to get in touch with my office in the future if I can be of any assistance to you on this or any other matter of concern. I hope you will find my website - www.mcmahon.house.gov - a useful resource for keeping up with events in Washington and the 13th District of New York.

Sincerely,

Michael E. McMahon
Member of Congress

this is a rediculous bill , a part of our economy is based on the pet trade , look at the
manufacturers , that supply job, for pet products the farmers that produce crickets
and food sources and there employee and petstores with tons of employee in this time
of a crippled economy they just try to hold us down every way we can make money
I WILL NOT LAY DOWN FOR THIS WE ALL SHOULD STAND !!!!!!!!!! we cant think that
this will be handled by others we have to do our parts , i sent 5 petition letters myself
if they limit what we can have in our stock they will devaste us nothing really is native to the us , this is taking away our rights my geckos are just a supplment to my income
but the love and time and the prospect of adding new addition to my collection is not theres to take away , our geckos are harmless and they should not be on the chopping block

I don't know if it's an actual written reply or just an automatic response, because I got a similar reply today from John Sarbanes. Let's hope we're getting through though.

You are right and let me add to that! Rodent breeders, animal bedding and food companies, cage and rack mfg. and suppliers, thermostat companies and it will also have a negative affect on flexwatt and Rubermaid, Sterilite and Iris! Plus all of the employees that work for all these places!
My congressman (women) actually wrote me and is all for us! She is currently fighting to keep non native Zebra Muscles out of Lake Erie but that is nothing like this bill and we have her vote! (So I was told anyway)!
But anyone who thinks this is just a joke mine as well get rid of the pets they love and join the parties responsible for this bill! Even if it don't get passed, there will be more to come in the near future and we need to know how to fight for our rights!

I would say it is just more change we can believe in. (just my humble opinion, based on 5 decades of experience) Yes, that was sarcasm. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
