Poor baby! I would get her to the vet ASAP! Or call the vet and see what he/she recommends. I hope the poor thing will be ok! You and her are in my thoughts and prayers.

Vet is bit of problem here in Israel, we have only few that know how to deal with reptiles, and I'm almost sure they will now know what to do with this leopard, but they will know how to take allot of money.

you think i can cause her to detach her tail somehow and then the infection will not spread. you think its right? if yes. how to do it?

some details that will help (maybe...):
the leopard lived with 3 more females in one terrarium, no sharp or rough objects. the temperature is 90F all the time, controlled by thermostat.

Try calling a vet anyway. You know, not to make an appointment, just to give you tips. Yes, try detaching the tail. I know its mean, but scratch her or something to make her think she is being attacked so she will drop her tail. It is for her own good, so keep that in mind, unless you would rather take the chance the infection or whatever spreads and you loose her.

OMG, that's one of the reasons we keep everything housed separately. We've never had any experience with tail loss so I can't give any advice other than try to get a vet appointment so they can at least dispense antibiotics. That tail looks very necrotic so it's possible that the infection may have already spread.

I would imagine that even a vet who is not a reptile expert would be able to amputate the tail and figure out (or go online to figure out) an appropriate dosage of an antibiotic. If anyone thinks I'm wrong, I"m happy to be corrected but it seems a better idea to have a professional deal with it in a sterile way than to try to detach the tail yourself.

Poor thing; hope she'll be okay. Seeing any vet if a reptile specialist isn't available does sound like a good idea. I assume most vets have at least studied reptiles at one time or another, and would know how to "read up" on the procedure. I know vets are expensive (for any sick pet) - it's a difficult choice.
