We've been keeping geckos for about a year and a half...our first was a Tokay...and we've since fallen in love with leopard geckos!

Off and on since I was 17...so 6 years

This isn't a silly poll. Maybe not refined enough...but in no way silly :)

I have owned reptiles my whole life. Anything from Iguanas and waterdragons to anoles and blue tongue skinks. But I have only owned Leos for about three years. I have learned alot, but the learning NEVER ends. I like that fact because with them there is always a new challege or something new that comes up. I also hope to start breeding Leos next season.

I think I voted in this Poll a wile back but never posted anything. I have been keeping leos since 99 started breeding in 2001 and had first successful clutch hatch in 2002. but have been keeping various other herps for as long as I can remember. Think my first herp was a box turtle at about the age of 7 or 8 years old.

Most of the information available about keeping geckos is opinion not scientific fact.
No one persons word is the gospel. Read as much information as you have available and decide for yourself what works best for you and your animal.

Agreed.
I love doing my research and reading up on species before getting them. Taking notes on the ones I'm keeping, on what works and what doesn't. I would rather read tones of herp books or articles in reptiles magazine or care sheets then read a novel.
