Today, my beautiful cross-eyed Siamese boy had to be euthanized, sniff. He had kidney failure (at only 11 years old). His name was Himself.
He was a "rescue" (about 3 years ago; from a cage in a basement of people who got twins and didn't want him any more). He never knew how to play, and had to learn to walk around and lose some fat. Last year he was 9 pounds. Today at the vet's, he was 3.
He will be cremated, and his ashes sprinkled over a field. It was hard to hold him when he got the final shot, and even harder to sign his "death sentence." When the doctor pierced him, she said, "now it hurts only once more, and then never again."
