I'm not telling you what games I enjoy, cause you'll think they are lame.

I'm not into violent games, enough of that crap going on in the news. If and when I manage to have time to play games I want it to be fun and put a smile on my face and make me forget all the crap in the news. :main_yes:
LOL, its fun blowing people up and shooting them:D. Where is the fun in being nice in video games:main_no:

My boyfriend sayd he'd rather stick with the 2 for a few years than buy a 3 now. He says that hen systems are updated such as from a PS2 to a 3, that it takes game companies a few years to update their games properly to get all the kinks and bugs out of them for hte new system.

So, whereas they will play there may be more problems with the games when they first come out for the new system.

My wife isn't telling me what computer games she is getting me for Christmas but I did put Call Of Duty 4 and the new FEAR game, and Cryist on my list.
Excellent list. Crysis is amazing. I almost want to buy Vista so I can use the DirectX 10 capabilities. Yeah, Vista blows bigtime so that isn't happening haha. I'm thinking I'll have to wait until xmas for COD4 as well. Also, don't forget the expansion for FEAR :D

Congrats on the PS3 Fe. They're lacking games right now, but next year should be a great year for the PS3. I can't wait for Drake's Fortune.

U liked FEAR really?? I thought it was pretty lame. Call of Duty 4 now thats a game but my favorite is Ghost Recon 2 prolly one of the best games for PS3 besides Call of Duty 4 as far as shooting games goes

LOL I had already got the PS3 80g when I posted this thread. I wasn't about to have him complain in six months cause he couldn't buy new games for the PS2. All his games are compatible with the PS3 and if they aren't there is a update to the software that will correct the issues. Besides this is more for all of us in the house, not just him. I may have bought a few games that I like as well. :D
To get the update just make sure you hook your PS3 to the internet either athernet cable or wirelessly and enter in all your settings

Well I spent most of the night trying to find out about this stuff.

Zach told Ken he wanted a PS2 for Christmas. The next day he saw me looking at PS3s online and said "I don't want a 3, I want a 2!!!" It took me a few days to figure out why...... he was told the PS1 games he has will not work on PS3. I was at Taget and figured I ask them there what they knew about it. One of the guys said the PS3 80g does work with the PS1 & PS2 games..... I had them pull out the box so we could check the box. It says it has limited capabilities with both PS1 & PS2 games. Well determined to find out which games I did a lot of digging..... all the way to downloading the manual for the PS3 to find this site (hope this helps others)......

I have a PS2 and a bunch of games for sale...I just bought a 40gb PS3 so I have no use for this anymore...

I bought mine when it first came out. While i'll admit the first year it really was more a glorified Blu-ray player (of which even that was still worth it in itself considering most blu-ray players were around $400-$600 anyways).

For a while the games that came out for it where crappy. But that was the case with every system including the ps2.

As of recently there have actually been a wave of decent to good games coming out and I use my ps3 as a media center extender on a regular basis to watch movies from my computer and show off pictures on the big tv to guests.

Granted though most of the games out on the ps3 can also be found on the xbox 360. But games like Heavenly sword and Uncharted Drakes fortune turned out to be pretty good.

Other games (that can also be found on xbox) = Rainbox 6 vegas, Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter 2, Call of Duty 4, Fight night round 3, guitar hero 3, rock band, and assasins creed definately are worth mentioning.

I am also looking forward to the new final fantasy XIII's, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Devil may cry games coming out next year.

Everyone has their own opinions. Me, I am happy with my ps3 and do not consider it a waste of money.

I agree. I recently picked up a PS3. I don't own any games (I rent with GameFly), but I do use it to connect to my PC and play movies with the HDMI connection.

I'm definitely a true xbox fan, but I picked up the PS3 for the exclusives. It might sound like a waste but there are a few games worth playing and more to come soon. It's only going to get better, so oh well to their initial struggle. I'm not upset with my investment at all.

Xbox will definitely be my main system for all cross platformers, but there definitely titles worth checking out on the PS3.

I bought my PS3 for Gran Turismo 5 (since it will only be released on PS3) and the Blu-Ray..... Other than the sticker price shock, I like the system.

@ GiantKeeper - There is a free demo you can download from the playstation network for Gran Turismo which looks absolutely incredible/realistic. I think its called Gran Turismo Concept or something like that.

@ Gecko - Probably the one system I do not own is the Wii. Even to this day it is nearly impossible to get ones hands on one. I have been trying off and on to get one of those but they are always sold out. The nintendo store in Manhattan gets a shipment of 50 every day but there are people lining up at 4:00 am to get it every week.

Wow, that's insane. I got my Wii from out local wal-mart and even then it was a lucky grab. They would always get one or two every so often and they'd be sold out by the next day. I'm glad I got it when I did, haven't seen them restock anymore since :main_thumbsup: It's hecka fun to play on too, been borrowing Metroid Prime 3 from one of my brother's friend and enjoying it immensely.

But aside from that my brother and I are desperately trying to get our hands on a 360. Mostly for Halo 3, Assassins Creed, good stuff like that... and I really really want the HD-DVD player too.
PS3's seem insanely overpriced and kinda not worth it at the moment. When they get more strong game titles going for them then I might be interested. But as of right now the 360 has the most potential for gaming enjoyment for me.
