Question About Fat Tail Temperament

So we got some fat tails in at my pet store where I work and they are so laid back. They both have regenerating tails though, but have nice broad alternating bands of brown and a white stripe going down their backs.

My question is, how laid back are these guys supposed to be? I've handled the one female quite a bit and she doesn't seem phased at all even when I hand her to someone else to hold. She also seems to really like being petted. If you rub the back of her head, she closes her eyes and lays down in your palm. The male is also very calm but doesn't seem to enjoy being petted as much. :)

I'm just worried that they might be sick. Usually reptiles that are that mellow have something wrong.

Fat tails are very calm. Even their movements are slow and deliberate compared to leos. My male would sometimes hiss a little at me when he didn't want to be picked up, but has stopped now.

My female AFT Cocoa I got last weekend is the same as that female. I think thats what sold her for me. She also closes her eyes and stays still when I pet her head. Even thought she is still stressed from going from a rack to a tank, when I check on her she will pop her head up for a little head petting. I've also found she likes to hang on to my bra strap and sleep inside my shirt. :) She's not nearly as jumpy as Amara, and I've had her for over a month and handle her about every evening.

My rescue fatty is just the same. She actually lifts her heat and closes her eyes when you rub her, and will pick a comfy spot and just lay on your hand.

But beware! Often the ones you find in the petstore have a ton of parasites! Wash your hands between handling them and handling any other animal.

I agree, our little guy is the most docile gecko I have had the pleasure of handling. Just so chill, will sit there and enjoy being scratched on the head. He's like a little puppy dog.

Are you kidding? I take a shower and change my clothes before I handle Tiamat after work. ;)

And now I want a fatty, but as much as I'd like to rescue the ones from work, I think I'd rather get one from a breeder that I know would be healthy.

Apparently, my husband has said I'm only allowed two lizards at a time. :( But for the moment I think it's because we're low on space. I'm going to get rid of my fish though so I can use the tank. >.>

Addicted? What? Me? Naw. :p

Puzzle loves it when I pet him it's so funny. I'll rub next to his little ears and he'll arch his back and grin LOL.

He's also SO LAZY. Oh my god. Like. I can't even describe how freaking lazy this gecko is. He sleeps ALL THE TIME. And when he's not sleeping, he's like a slug. The only time he's active is when I'm feeding him and even that is slowing down.
