Wow! That really sucks! He was a funny guy. He was not too smart when It came to damgerous animals though. It was only a matter of time.

...thanks guys...just ruined my entire Labor Day 4 Day weekend...I'm actually in tears now...I loved that man :(.

At least there will be Marathon's of his show on Animal Planet that I can watch :(.

Why do all the good guys have to die? Why? Hmm? Answer me God! All the great things he did in life! Come on. Couldn't you have killed someone else? There were many more far more deserving of an early death! Irwin wasn't done in life. He had so much left to do for all the wildlife in the world. All his conservation efforts and work weren't finished. Now you've taken him from all of us, all of us who loved what he did, who watched his show and loved seeing the things none of us had the courage to do.

Damn it all...

I figured an animal would get him in the end....but I always thought it would be a croc or a HOT. Not a stingray. It seems like such a freak accident.

Ugh, I just heard about it on VenomList. That is such a tragedy! :( I feel terrible for his family as well. What a freak accident . . . handling all of these dangerous animals on a daily basis and it is a stingray barb to the heart that gets him.

Sad day. The guy did a lot for the hobby. More then many know. Brought the herps into peoples homes to show they are not monsters. He loved everything to do with animals.

Sad day. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

This is so sad. I feel so horrible for his wife and children. I hope Terri carries on working on educating folks about herps.

Oh no, such a tragic event. He was a very great addition to the herp world, and the wildlife world too. He made people understand and Love reptiles that usually was looked down against.

Me and Ed will definatly be missing him...

He always lived life on the edge, but he did know what he was doing especially with the crocs, snakes etc. but I guess he was just a little out of his element with the stingrays and didn't give one quite enough room, it is a very sad loss for everyone and our hobby. I feel so sad for his wife and kids, as you can tell from the shows his girl was definately a "daddys girl", so that is kinda hard to take when you think about it. I have a "daddys girl" here, so it is a little harder to take. R.I.P. Steve Irwin

Oh wow...

I was a huge fan of his. He did so much for the reptile community and for the preservation of so many animals, without him it deffinally wouldn't be how it is today and for the future. Hopfully his staff and family will keep his dreams in their mind and keep up their great work that they are doing. I feel terrible for his family, esp for his young kids, he seemed to be very family oriented. I guess that's good that he died while doing something he loved doing, I'm guessing he would of liked that.

RIP Steve Irwin...

I thought a croc would get him not a stingray. What a sad day. Not only for us adults that knew what he stood for, but for all the children that he brought the world of animals too in his shows.

I told my son today about it cause I knew he would here it and not believe anyone. After he calmed down he asked me if a croc got him. :(
