so i get an email inquiring one of my cresteds. i give the shipping price and ask for his offer bc he asked if i would go down on the price... he responds 'it's 49.99 at petco. i guess you wouldn't want to ship the crested to me for free, so i'll pass and get it there.' now why would one inquire about a reptile, already more than 49.99, yet want it for free bc the price after shipping? i don't understand. especially since the reptile itself was more than the petco crested. then be all 'i guess you won't ship it to me for free, so i'll get it at petco.'

am i supposed to ship regular mail? um... no... just slightly perturbed by it.

That is pretty dumb, I dont think alot of people relize how much shipping herps costs, they probly see $40-50 dollars for shipping and think it costs alot less and you are pocketing the rest. I have actually told people that I know that arent into herps how much it costed to ship leos to me overnight, and when I told them they were in shock lol.

Yeah shipping herps can get really expensive, especially with the bigger ones too from what I gather. The only person I've ordered leos from so far has be Ryval and their only a few hours away so the shipping isn't as bad, less than 35 dollars usually. And that would basically be the cost of gas in driving to go get them so its not bad when you think about it.

ha... i advised him of parasites and whatnot, and told him of my experiences with buying petstore reptiles. he said well they're vet approved... let me tell you... i work at a petco (for now), and they're not vet approved. i mean yea if you need it, within your 15 days you can take it to the vet, and we'll pay the expenses, but that's it. if it's sick before you buy it, then yea it went to a vet. nothing more. a vet doesn't come in and check every animal, nor do we take every animal to a vet... but whatever floats his boat...

Let me just say, speaking from experience, your cresteds are worth EVERY PENNY you ask! So don't let this "person" get to you. I'm sure your pricing is fair! ;)

Aside from that, I think they're pulling your leg. All the cresteds I've seen in pet stores in this area cost $80, and that's for a baby! I find it highly unlikely that they only want $50, unless the animal is marked way down. :main_no:

Yeah I have seen them at petco's everywhere for 50. And I agree avoid buying from there if they have a bad rep or if their animals just look bad. But I have nothing againsy buying from petstores, just know what to look for in a healthy reptile and its cagemates. Just know what your getting into.

I agree with Robin too, add him to you "do not sell to list."

I currently work at Petco as well for my summer job. We are no where near vet approved. Some of the things I see are just stupid.

I third Robin's statement, "Do Not Sell List"

I agree with you Kyle... I too work for a Petco (for today anyway), and they're not vet approved... And honestly, the place we get our reptiles, doesn't have the best reputataion... Whatever... I don't plan on selling to him.

Thanks Maurice :)
