Raptor? Hatchling and question

I woke up to another hatchling this morning. He/she was moving around ok, but the cord is still attatched. I put him on moist paper towel in the tub. Will that be ok? How long until the cord comes off? This is my first hatchling to have it attatched still. He/she is really active and is moving around a lot. Hopefully that's a good sign.

I think it's a raptor. Both eyes look solid red, but I couldn't tell for sure. He/she is super light sensitive and I didn't want to stress it too much. I did get a few pics quickly. What do you think? The parents are a snake-eye eclipse het raptor by a snake-eye eclipse het tremper. This was the only good egg from the clutch. The eggs were stuck together, but we had to cut the other one off when it went bad. It hatched a few days early.

It'll be fine and the yolk sac should fall off in a day or so. Definately atleast a eclipse eyed tremper, but not a true "Raptor" due to the patterning.

Thanks! The cord actually fell off already. I just looked and saw it in the tub. The baby is still moving around fine.

So would I call it an eclipse tremper? I get confused since I see quite a few people listing theirs as raptors even when they have patterns. I'm still pretty sure that the eyes are solid red, but I can't be positive yet.

Well it has to have the eclipse gene since both parents are expressing that trait. You can call it a "jungle raptor" if you'd like for simplicity, but the term R.A.P.T.OR discribed a tangerine tremper albino with eclipse eyes that's expressing both stripe genes making it "patternless";)

persinally I think that patterning is much nicer than some true raptors look.

Thank you for your help! I really like this hatchling (but I like all of them)!

These are the parents:

Those are indeed a patternless stripe eclipse het tremper. Those with the albino gene would be a true "RAPTOR"

I agree with thinking Raptors with some pattern are much prettier then patternless ones. I got a Reverse stripe male raptor and he is the prettiest little thing.
That baby you got there looks like its going to be a stunner when it grows up. love the pattern

Cool pattern! I can't wait to see update pics. Male Tremper Eclipse eye's can be a little hard to tell apart at first because normal Tremper hatchling eyes are so red anyway. We've hatched 3 Raptors this season from Snake Eyed Eclipse het Tremper pairings and so far all of them have kept solid red eyes. So hopefully you got 2 solid ruby ones!

My husband noticed today that this little one has a tail kink.:( He/she is shedding right now, so hopefully it will start eating soon. It's a tiny hatchling.

Thanks Paul. It just finished shedding and will hopefully potty soon. I will make sure to add plenty of calcium to it's food dish.:)
