oh ok makes sense, so the reason the guy im buying the geckos from isnt saying 66% het is because the father was a raptor and the mother was a tremper albino, hence that gives you certainty that the babies are indeed het for raptor (eclipse).?

i wouldnt call babies from "raptor het" X "raptor het" anything inless you actualy got raptors from that cross. to me its not het or 66% or any % for that matter because the "raptor het " might not have been het at all. they might not be anything.

well he knows that one of the parents is a raptor

its not like albino that you can have 2 hets breed them together and get albinos

Raptor is different. but do what you like

look at it this way if you breed a stripe to a banded you would think that you would get het for stripe right . but you realy dont it dosent act like a resesive all the time you will get alot of banded maybe some jungle looking but its hard to get the stripe. it kinda works the same way.

when he breed the raptor to the banded animal he went back a step

if you want i can call you and explain its easier to talk then to type

ok what time is best

the only thing im saying is that they might not give you raptors they are very nice animals and just by looking at them you can see that they could have raptor in the bloodline but im just saying to be careful with the raptor thing cause its alittle more then "het" you might get lucky and get some raptors then again you might get nothing. but eather way it look like you will get nice jungles

not the way you are thinking of it. you are thinking that it will act 100% like a het

it dosent

the only way i say "het eclipse or het raptor" i mean that one of the parents are a raptor or eclipse not that it will be 100% acting like a het. and when you sell them you should let people know that

it would be like selling a banded that is 100% het for stripe. its babies could be banded, jungle, or maybe stripe but the stripe would be a far strech.

Very true, it is thought that the eclipse gene and stripe traits are somehow linked. There has never been a red eyed banded or eclipse banded.

Yes, there has. Pat of Luxurious Leopards has a Banded Tremper with Eclipse eyes.

My bad :D
Thanks for the pics

yet another RAPTOR project suprise. So now there have been red eyed aptors, blizzards, reverse stripes, jungles, and bandeds. And soon (if not already) there will be some red eyed murphy patternless too.

The banded pattern is the most dominant of the polygenetic pattern traits, so would this mean that the eclipse trait is not linked to stripes? You cant be a stripe if your banded, and the belief is that the eclipse trait is tied to stripes... Intresting

To me the fact that Dan (GroovyGeckos) and Alberto (A&M) have both produced Raptor/Eclipse offspring from non-Raptor line Patternless Red Stripes x Raptor line geckos tells me it is tied with stripes. Has anyone produced Eclipse from non-Raptor line PRS x non-Raptor line PRS yet?

I think kelli bred a het raptor or raptor to an unrelated het tremper and hatched out a raptor.

hi guys, this has been very interesting reading but im still a little confused. if there is no such think as a true het raptor in the conventional sense, is there a het aptor? i would think not right? because a raptor is just an aptor with the eclips gene added in the mix as i understand it. could you breed an aptor to het aptor and get all aptors or is it a crap shoot like raptor.
