Ohh okay I see, thanks. Are mealworms okay for her right now? Those are about the only type of worms I can find around here that leos can eat but they're $1 a dozen so I usually just get them for treats for my boy until I can order some online. But if they would help fatten her up and get her healthy again I'll get some for her, she needs all the help she can get right now

Mealworms would be fineand she looks alot like a hypo snow. If mealworms are 1$ a dozen then that is a rip of for a price, even if they are giants!
I wouldn`t pay that price, I would go to a online store and get them there.

Best of luck James M

I don't know if I'd call her a snow though. I've noticed that geckos tend to get really pale when malnourished. I betcha she'll yellow up as she gains some weight.

I peruse the Atlanta craigslist from time to time as well and I noticed that this gecko was available. I'm glad someone responsible got her! On a sidenote, someone's been offering beautiful RAPTORS and albinos on the Atlanta craigslist. Any idea who it could be? It's not any of you guys, is it?

please be careful about the all you can eat buffet

as with ANY malnourished creature, you want to EASE into feeding her, DON"T give her that many crix or ANY prey item emmediately OR all at once.... it will lead to regurgitation and then to her not wanting to eat because (i'm convinced regurg hurts them) and then she'll get worse not better.

I would say for at least 2-3 weeks give small frequent meals, if she regurg's back off for a bit...... ease into it.

Example:

each day give 3 feedings of 1-2 prey items, if she excepts this for 2 days then increase to 2-3 prey items 3 times a day and so on and so forth until she's eating a full amount of food and then you can start to feed fewer times a day but an equal amount of food.

Did that make sense?>

So far she seems to be doing well, atleast I can't see her ribs anymore. She pooped last night a big healthy looking poop and ate 5 mealworms and 3 crickets this morning but I'll spread them out a little more over the day next time so she doesn't get overloaded. Thanks for the advice :)

Seems like she's doing good! Do you have any updated pictures? Make sure you dust the food; with the care of the previous owner factored in, there may be a good chance of MBD. It seems like you're doing all right though, I'm glad you rescued her:main_yes:

I just got back from the vet after taking this morning's poo in for a fecal exam and everything came back clean. :D So if she wasn't impacted from the sand, and she doesn't have any parasites, and her appetite is good, the only conclusion I can come to is that that woman just did not feed her. :main_no: She's already starting to fill out and get a little bit more color and she's pretty active so I think she's going to be just fine. :main_yes: Here's a few pics recent pics from Saturday and this morning. :)
